Key Responsibilites
- Manage and scale IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, and cloud-based services, to ensure high availability and security of systems and services. Monitor system performance and capacity, and proactively identify and address potential issues.
- Resolve escalated support tickets and respond to IT incidents timely and efficiently. Diagnose and troubleshoot technical problems, and provide solutions to restore services quickly. Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by providing excellent support.
- Collaborate with vendors and consultants to provide technical design, implementation, and communication plans for IT projects. Ensure that projects are delivered successfully by managing project timelines, resources, and budgets.
- Automate IT processes using scripting, workflows, and integrations. Increase system integrations to improve efficiency and scalability. Streamline IT operations and reduce manual tasks.
- Monitor and administer firewalls, routers, switches, and AV equipment in the local office to ensure network security and availability. Manage IP address assignments, DNS settings, and network configurations.
- Manage hardware and software asset inventories, including tracking asset lifecycles, maintenance contracts, and warranty information. Streamline the procurement process by working with vendors to obtain the best possible prices and terms.
- Train IT support engineers on the right procedures for rolling out projects across different departments. Ensure that projects are implemented consistently and effectively.
- Keep up to date with technology trends and research. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and processes to enable continuing innovation of the broad IT infrastructure.
- Perform any other duties aligned with the requirements of the position, such as providing technical support to users, managing IT budgets, and participating in IT projects.
Who You Are
- Post-secondary education in information systems or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience. Candidates should possess a deep understanding of information systems, including network architecture, database management, and systems analysis and design.
- 3+ years of experience configuring and troubleshooting network devices and services, including DNS, DHCP, subnets, Wi-Fi, and VPN. Candidates should have a strong understanding of IP addressing, routing protocols, and network security.
- 5+ years of experience working in a cloud-first organization, including familiarity with Okta, Google Workspace, Entra ID (AzureAD), Kandji, Intune, Zscaler, Slack, JSM, and 1Password. Candidates should have experience with cloud-based identity management, authentication, and access control solutions.
- Knowledge of Industrial Cybersecurity best practices and Cybersecurity principles. Candidates should be familiar with common cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities, as well as best practices for protecting industrial systems from cyberattacks.
- Experience in providing technical leadership and guidance to other IT engineers.
- Excellent priority and time management skills to perform various concurrent tasks with minimal direction. Candidates should be able to manage their time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Customer service-focused, excellent communication skills, and strong analytical problem-solving abilities. Candidates should have a customer-centric approach, be able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, and have strong problem-solving skills.
