About the Role

We’re hiring a senior, hands-on IT Infrastructure & Network Engineer to own the corporate IT environment for a technology company building connected edge solutions. You’ll be the go-to person for Microsoft 365, identity and access, servers, networking, security, backups, and remote connectivity.

Infrastructure and systems administration is the core of this role, backed by strong network engineering skills. You’ll also partner with Software Engineering and DevOps on device connectivity, traffic analysis, and troubleshooting across edge-connected systems and lab environments.

What You’ll Do

IT Infrastructure & Microsoft 365

  • Administer Microsoft 365: users, groups, licensing, permissions, and authentication
  • Manage Microsoft Entra ID, MFA, and identity and access controls
  • Support Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive
  • Own onboarding, offboarding, provisioning, and account lifecycle
  • Maintain asset, access, and configuration documentation and coordinate with vendors

Server & Systems Administration

  • Administer and troubleshoot a mix of on-premises and hosted Windows and Linux servers
  • Handle patching, updates, storage, services, and secure remote administration
  • Monitor server health, logs, capacity, and availability
  • Maintain and test backup, restore, and recovery procedures
  • Coordinate on-site or third-party hands-on support when physical work is needed

Network Engineering

  • Configure, support, and document corporate, engineering, and edge network environments
  • Work across TCP/IP, VLANs, switching, routing, NAT, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, wireless, VPN, cellular, and fiber
  • Support segmentation, resiliency, redundancy, and failover
  • Support routers, switches, controllers, media converters, transceivers, and PoE equipment
  • Collaborate with customer IT teams, vendors, and integrators on connectivity and design

Traffic, Performance & Capacity Analysis

  • Capture and analyze traffic from applications, APIs, cameras, edge devices, and telemetry
  • Calculate bandwidth and capacity needs from device counts, event rates, and payload sizes
  • Diagnose latency, packet loss, retransmissions, and congestion
  • Estimate cellular data consumption for mobile and in-vehicle systems
  • Use Wireshark, tcpdump, iperf, or similar tools to deliver sizing and performance recommendations

Engineering & Edge Systems Support

  • Help Software Engineering isolate whether issues come from software, network, OS, hardware, or third-party systems
  • Support integration of controllers, cameras, RFID/LPR equipment, gateways, and antennas
  • Support Windows- and Linux-based edge environments, including services, interfaces, and certificates
  • Support development and validation lab environments

DevOps Collaboration

  • Partner with DevOps on DNS, routing, firewalls, TLS/certificates, and secure communications
  • Provide packet captures, logs, and diagnostics for root-cause analysis
  • Support connectivity across corporate infrastructure, edge systems, customer sites, and hosted systems

Technology Evaluation & Proofs of Concept

  • Assess networking, compatibility, and integration requirements for new technologies
  • Build and validate prototype and proof-of-concept environments
  • Document constraints, dependencies, test results, and deployment readiness

Security & Documentation

  • Apply security best practices across M365, servers, networks, and remote access
  • Maintain network diagrams, IP/VLAN records, port and firewall requirements, and configuration standards
  • Participate in incident investigation, root-cause analysis, and corrective action
