The Role
Job Title: Senior IT EngineerDepartment: Technology Services & SolutionsReports to: Senior Director, Technology Services & SolutionsEffective Date:  November 2025Location: Houston, TX (Remote if local to Houston)Travel: 20%
POSITION PURPOSE:  
This is a full-time, exempt position that will be reporting to the Senior Director, Technology Services & Solutions. This individual will be responsible for managing KCE's IT systems, including software, hardware, networks, and cloud systems. This position will oversee and/or perform testing, configuring, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and networking systems to meet the needs of the company. This role is posted at the Senior Associate level; however, candidates with extensive experience in IT management may be considered for a Manager-level role. 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • IT Management
    • Provide support for IT helpdesk requests.
      • Establish IT operation standards, procedures, and tools in a complex and fast-growing environment.
      • Manage and maintain computer hardware and software inventories.
      • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding of employees.
      • Identify risk, faults, or opportunities for improvements within our IT environment.
  • Site Operations
    • ​​​​​​​Manage and execute site planning for ISP, and POD network equipment installation.
      • ​​​​​​​Work with SCADA team for troubleshooting sites.
      • Document all site network configurations.
      • Maintain network hardware at all KCE sites.
      • Plan, document and coordinate all site IT projects with Operations Team.
  • Network Operations
    • ​​​​​​​Manage and maintain WAN/LAN and wireless networks across all sites.
      • ​​​​​​​Provide network support for all remote sites after hours.
      • Coordinate with 3rd party support for issues at remote sites.
      • Work closely with security team to keep network environment secure and remediate any findings.
      • Maintain 100% up time as much as possible.
      • Work with different vendors to evaluate network tools as needed.
  • All other duties as required.

WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of computer hardware systems, networking and cloud technologies.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Knowledge of endpoint and network security systems.
  • Proven experience delivering time-pressured projects on-time and with high quality.
  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work in and manage a small team.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of working at a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must have the ability to identify and distinguish colors.
