Job Responsibilities :The Senior IT Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the integrity, security, and efficiency of the organization's IT systems and processes. This role involves performing independent and objective reviews, along with comprehensive assessments, audits, and evaluations to identify potential risks and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.Key Responsibilities:
Plan and execute risk-based IT audits and independent reviews to assess the design and operating effectiveness of technology controls.
Perform independent validation of IT risk management practices, ensuring adequate segregation from IT operations and system ownership.
Evaluate the adequacy of internal controls in addressing technology risks in line with regulatory requirements, including MAS Technology Risk Management (TRM) Guidelines, BNM Technology Requirements, ISO 27001, GDPR, and BOT requirements.
Assess technology risk exposures and evaluate the effectiveness of mitigation strategies.
Conduct ongoing monitoring and review of IT systems, infrastructure, and security controls to ensure sustained compliance and control effectiveness.
Identify control gaps, emerging risks, and areas for improvement.
Prepare clear, concise, and risk-focused audit and assurance reports, including root cause analysis and actionable recommendations.
Report audit findings, risk exposures, and control weaknesses to senior management, Board, and relevant risk governance committees.
Track and validate remediation actions to ensure timely and effective closure of audit findings.
Assess the implementation and effectiveness of IT security controls, including access management, system security, network security, and data protection.
Review IT policies, standards, and procedures to ensure alignment with regulatory expectations and industry best practices.
Promote a strong control environment consistent with regulatory and industry security principles.
Ensure alignment with applicable regulatory requirements, including BNM TR, MAS TRM, and ISO 27001.
Provide independent advisory on technology risk and control matters without impairing audit independence.
Support regulatory reviews and audits by providing relevant documentation and insights.
Maintain comprehensive, accurate, and up-to-date documentation supporting audit work, risk assessments, and assurance activities.
Ensure proper record-keeping and audit trails to support regulatory inspections and internal governance requirements.
