As a Senior IT Architect at Honeywell, you will be responsible for ensuring the design and development of software architecture aligns with business objectives and scalability for Red, Honeywell's AI Assistant. You will partner cross-functionally to define system requirements and design solutions that integrate seamlessly into complex engineering systems. In this role, you will influence the strategic direction and operational efficiency of our technology architecture, ensuring alignment with business goals and continuous innovation. Your leadership will support team success and ongoing professional development.

You will report directly to the Director of IT and work from our Bucharest location on a hybrid schedule (3+2).

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to software development teams
  • Drive architectural decisions to optimize system performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability
  • Define system architecture and ensure alignment with business objectives and enterprise standards
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, security, and operations teams to deliver integrated solutions
  • Promote and implement best practices, coding standards, and architectural patterns across projects
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies, including AI/ML capabilities, into scalable solutions

Key skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • 6+ years of experience in software architecture and development
  • Strong expertise in design principles, architectural patterns, and coding standards
  • Experience with AI/ML model design and deployment, ideally in industrial or cybersecurity environments
  • Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and microservices architecture
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISA/IEC 62443) and threat modeling
  • Experience with data engineering, including data pipelines, ETL processes, and real-time technologies (e.g., Kafka, Spark)
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and automated testing
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach engineers and architects
  • Experience with ServiceNow and Virtual Agents is a plus
