Job Summary: We seek a Senior Interactive Simulation Developer with a proven track record that includes deploying simulation experiences for operational use and shipping high-quality gaming products, particularly with expertise in Unreal Engine. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience developing online multiplayer games and a deep understanding of mixed-reality interfaces. As a senior team member, you will lead the technical development, guiding our project and shaping the simulation roadmap.

- Develop immersive experiences that engage customers and enhance product experience
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to develop next-generation user interfaces
- Develop and deploy physics-based models in simulation
- Create simulation scenarios that enhance field-collected data
- Develop tools that train users in the operation of our systems
Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical development of an immersive gaming simulation using Unreal Engine.
- Collaborate closely with designers, artists, and other developers to create innovative simulation environments and game experiences.
- Architect and implement scalable systems for online multiplayer functionality.
- Develop and optimize mixed reality interfaces to enhance user immersion.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues throughout the development process.
- Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of creativity and technical excellence.
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our simulation remains at the cutting edge.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field of study
- Gaming: 5+ years of experience in game development, with at least 3 years using Unreal Engine (UE5 or greater.)
- Successful deployments: Proven track record demonstrating having launched simulation environments or shipping at least one high-quality game.
- Multiplayer Expertise: Strong understanding of server-client architecture, matchmaking, and network optimization for online multiplayer games.
- Programming Skills: Proficiency in C++, Blueprint scripting, and Unreal Engine’s toolset.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead a development team, including mentoring junior developers.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills and a passion for overcoming technical challenges
- Industry Experience: Familiarity with game development processes including design, development, production, QA
- Experience: Foundational knowledge of computer science concepts (algorithms, data structures, object-oriented
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Graduate degree in an engineering discipline, computer science, mathematics, statistics, physics, or other related field
- Knowledge of machine learning practice and theory
- Military service or defense industry experience
- A background in simulation or training software development
Additional Requirements:
- This is an onsite position based at our Torrance Headquarters.

As required by the Equal Pay Transparency Act, Epirus provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.
For the state of California only, the range of starting pay for this role is:
$135,700—$172,300 USD
