The Role
About Sirona Medical

At Sirona Medical, we’re building software that enables physicians to work as fast as they can think.

Each year in the U.S., billions of patient images are captured—and nearly all of them are reviewed and diagnosed by radiologists. These specialists are the central hub of diagnostic medicine: over 80% of all healthcare data flows through radiology IT systems. Yet despite their pivotal role, radiologists are overburdened by outdated, fragmented software which limits their efficiency and ultimately the quality and efficiency of care that health systems can provide patients. That’s where Sirona comes in.

We’re a San Francisco-based, cloud-native software company with employees around the world. Our deep understanding of both the practice and business of radiology has allowed us to build RadOS—a unified, AI-powered operating system powering the entire radiology workflows.

How Sirona Solves the Problem

Sirona is uniquely positioned to transform the way radiology is practiced. We're delivering the organizational shift that both individual radiologists and entire practices urgently need:

  • unified, intuitive, and platform-agnostic solution

  • A streamlined workspace that makes every part of the radiologist’s workflow faster and easier

  • The freedom to read from anywhere, for anyone

By cutting clicks, optimizing diagnostic time, and unlocking efficiencies that extend far beyond the reading room into all care settings, Sirona empowers radiologists—and in doing so, we help the entire healthcare system move faster, smarter, and with greater impact on patient outcomes.

Senior Integrations Engineer
Scale what works. Shape what’s next. Bring modern radiology to life.

At Sirona Medical, we’re rethinking how radiologists work, building a smarter, faster, and more intuitive platform to support the doctors behind the diagnosis. But none of it works unless we integrate seamlessly with real-world clinical systems. That’s why we’re investing deeply in our Integrations team.  We’re looking for a Senior Integrations Engineer with strong DICOM experience to help lead the way. You’ll join a capable team that’s already delivered critical integrations and you’ll play a key role in scaling and evolving that work as we grow. This is a hands-on, high-impact role focused on designing, implementing, and optimizing integrations that make modern radiology tools accessible within complex hospital environments.
Why This Role Matters:
DICOM is core, not a checkbox. Our platform depends on rich, high-fidelity imaging data. Deep DICOM expertise is essential, and this role gives you a chance to apply it across varied environments and architectures. You’ll scale what’s already working. The groundwork is in place. You’ll help us operationalize and expand it. You’ll lead technically. From interface design to workflow orchestration, you’ll help define best practices for high-performance, clinically safe imaging integrations. You’ll impact the mission directly. Every integration you deliver helps radiologists work faster, smarter, and more accurately, with direct impact on patient care.
What You’ll Do:

  • Lead customer integration projects with a strong emphasis on DICOM interface design, implementation, and support.
  • Analyze imaging workflows and develop solutions that fit smoothly into hospital PACS, RIS, and VNA environments.
  • Design and build data pipelines that normalize and route imaging and metadata reliably at scale.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure product alignment with real-world imaging use cases and clinical workflows.
  • Improve internal tools, documentation, and architecture to make DICOM integrations more repeatable and maintainable.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support live integration environments and troubleshoot urgent issues.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Extensive experience working with DICOM, including image routing, metadata management, and PACS/VNA interoperability.
  • Strong technical skills with one or more of: Java, JavaScript, SQL, PostgreSQL, or XSLT. Familiarity with Python is a plus.
  • Experience with integration engines (e.g., Mirth, Cloverleaf, Rhapsody) and system-level debugging
  • Understanding of HL7 and healthcare IT standards
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate clearly with both technical and clinical stakeholders.
  • A practical mindset with a passion for solving real-world healthcare challenges through smart, scalable integrations.

Why Join Now?
This is a rare opportunity to shape a critical function within a company that’s growing quickly and solving real problems in healthcare. You’ll work on high-impact projects, partner with experienced teams, and help define how Sirona scales imaging integrations across diverse health systems.
If you’re a DICOM expert who wants to make an outsized impact,  we’d love to talk.
