Currently, we are seeking a motivated, career and team-oriented cybersecurity Integration Test Engineer in support of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Continuous Diagnostic & Mitigation (CDM) Data Services Program. The CDM Data Services Program is a critical component of CISA’s national effort to ensure the defense and resilience of cyberspace. This is a remote position where the candidate can work from any location within the United States provided, they are able to work on an eastern time zone schedule.

The CDM Data Services Program mission is to provide a standardized platform to collect, transform, and integrate cybersecurity data from relevant authoritative data sources into a coherent data, delivering actionable information into Agency and Federal Dashboards to identify risk areas in support of mitigation as well as to facilitate coordinated agency and national response to cyber-threats.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute test plans to validate software functionality against requirements and specifications.
  • Perform end to end test validation for several products and components primarily testing the data layer and dataflows. Additional test validation may include RESTful services and User Interfaces.
  • Develop and maintain test plans, procedures and reports necessary to conduct integration and test activities.
  • Development and maintenance of automated tests via script generation, Selenium, etc.
  • Conduct test activities such as regression, security, and stress testing to measure system performance.
  • Assess or generate system requirements, acceptance criteria and generate detailed defects.
  • Work closely with development teams to gain an in-depth level of understanding of the applications, the applications deployment process and troubleshoot defects.
  • Troubleshoot and provide support to end users and or external applications.
  • Develop and execute automated tests and manual tests to collect metrics and generate artifacts for use by government Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) testers.
  • Work closely with Automation Engineers to develop testing methods.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop and execute a robust strategy for testing.
  • Develop and execute approaches that promote efficient, effective software testing methods such as modular, unit, and regression testing.
  • Utilize integration tests to validate the implementation of the data requirements in accordance with the Interface Control Document and other documents.
  • Create test artifacts including test cases and test reports.
  • Facilitate solution testing in ManTech cloud-based lab environments.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of (9) years experience in complex data validation, data flow, data parser and hands on database testing (Postgres preferred)
  • Experience with developing test plans, procedures, report generation and maintenance.
  • Experience with developing exploratory testing, system integration testing, user acceptance testing, regression testing, API testing, and data-driven automated testing scenarios.
  • Identify, verify and report defects; perform root cause analysis by inspecting application logs and through use of browser developer tools, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience with automated test generation
  • Knowledge and experience of RESTful web service testing including the use of Poster/REST Client or similar.
  • Experience with Linux OS as well as bash/sh scripts.
  • Ability to read and understand XML, JSON, CSV files.
  • Experience with writing queries in SQL and other query languages (Elasticsearch KQL)
  • Knowledge of big data platforms and formats (Elasticsearch, JSON, data lakes, etc.)
  • Understanding of data transformation and normalization
  • Experience with using the Jira ticketing system to coordinate issue resolution
  • Experience with troubleshooting system defects, user issues and connectivity issues.
  • Experience with DHS Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) a plus.
  • Ability to adapt to Agile Scrum Software Development methodologies with a cross-functional team approach
  • Ability to work well in an independent and team environment.
  • Flexibility and ability to complete tasks in a fast paced environment.
  • Detailed oriented and excellent problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Must be a self-starter and have the ability to think outside the box to design effective solutions.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills as this position will interact with senior level executives.

Security/Clearance Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Able to obtain and maintain a DHS Suitability/Entry on Duty (EOD)

Physical Requirements 

  • Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time 
  • Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel 
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer 
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations 
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
