THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE

Santander Asset Management is looking for a Senior Institutional Sales, Spain, based out of Madrid.

The Institutional Sales team in Spain is responsible for commercial efforts across the institutional client segments, through direct selling as well as through Santander CIB and CCB channels.

As a Senior Institutional Sales, you will be key in driving institutional and wholesale commercial activities of Santander Asset Management in the Spanish market.

In addition to ensuring short-term financial objectives are achieved, the role is also responsible for understanding the competitive landscape and firm capabilities, and to anticipate necessary developments towards enabling the business to take advantage of future opportunities.

You will work closely with other departments to execute the commercial plan, ensuring the business unit meets its financial objectives.

Business Development & Client relationship management

  • Proactively drive high-value sales growth in the institutional client segment.
  • Cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with high-value institutional clients, including pension funds, insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, endowments, and other major institutional investors.
  • Co-develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to meet or exceed commercial targets.
  • Identify market opportunities and trends to position the firm's product offerings effectively within the competitive landscape.

Collaboration

  • Work together with the other sales team members in executing the commercial strategy.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as Product and Investments, to ensure alignment of product development and resources with sales strategies and market needs.
  • Ensure close cooperation with the banking channel of Santander, being Private Banking, CIB and CCB.

Other

  • Represent the firm externally at conferences, industry forums and events to strengthen brand presence and reputation.
  • Ensure compliance with global regulatory requirements, internal policies, and best practices within the sales process.

Professional Experience

  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in similar roles (Required)
  • Proven and credible track record in the Spanish Institutional market (Required)

Education

  • Bachelor´s degree in Banking, Finance, Economics or a related field (Required)
  • CFA or CAIA designation (Preferred)

Languages

  • Spanish (Required)
  • English (Required)

Hard Skills

  • Ability to manage complex sales cycles, offering tailor-made solutions addressing client needs (Required)
  • Thorough understanding of financial markets and interest in developing this further (Required)
  • Thorough understanding of investment products and fund documentation and interest in developing this further (e.g. factsheets, UCITS) (Required)
