Team / Division Overview

DWS is seeking a senior Institutional Salesperson Coverage professional in the Coverage Core Institutional team. You will be part of a global team within the Coverage (over 800 employees) deep U.S. institutional coverage team that includes relationship managers, investment specialists and client service and support groups. Clients and prospects covered include public pension funds, endowments & foundations, Taft-Hartley pensions, and other institutional investors.

The position will be primarily responsible for acquiring new institutional clients as well as additional revenues from existing client base focusing on institutional clients such as pensions, endowments and foundations for the Central region.

We are seeking candidates intensely focused on asset owners and the consultants who advise them, who are self-motivated and have a strong history in, and knowledge of the institutional marketplace, particularly pensions, endowments and foundations. 

Most importantly, candidates should have a proven track record of developing business and maintaining relationships with the institutional client base in Central region of US.  The candidate should have a proven track record of closing business and maintaining relationships with the targeted or similar institutional client base. He/she should be team-oriented, have strong interpersonal and relationship building skills. He/she should have current knowledge of investment products, investor demands and industry regulations.  As important, the candidate must be comfortable with operating in a highly collaborative team environment.

Role Details  

As a/an Senior Institutional Relationship Manager (Pensions/Endowments & Foundations/Taft-Hartley) in Central region Region, you will (be):

  • At least 7 years’ experience in the client coverage portion of the asset management industry such as a large asset manager, consultant and/or intermediary.

  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written; credibility and gravitas to operate with senior level with the organization as well as a broad range of external clients.

  • Driven professional, self-motivated, ability to operate independently; strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently and effectively

  • Flexible approach to travel is mandatory

We are looking for: 

  • Minimum Bachelors Degree or equivalent

  • Experience within the financial sector

  • Relationships with institutional asset owners and their consultants/advisors

  • Asset management industry experience

  • Good academic credentials; CFA and MBA a plus.

License(s) required:

  • Candidate should hold a series 7 and 63;

The salary range for this position in Chicago is $146,000 to $255,000 . Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of renumeration.

Skills Required

  • At least 7 years' experience in client coverage within asset management, consulting, or intermediary roles
