The Senior Innovation Project Manager Biotechnology reports to the Head of innovation within the R&D organization.
The Senior Innovation Project Manager Biotechnology will be responsible for coordinating programs in the field of Biotechnology that are part of a global initiative called IPCEI.
IPCEI is an unprecedented and ambitious innovation program that aims at reinventing current production processes with a strong focus on competitiveness and environmental performance enhancement. It is composed of 3 projects each of them focused on a specific technological area.
The project is currently in an intensive R&D phase conducted in collaboration with several external partners from academia or industry. It is a unique opportunity to develop high-level science and then implement it in EUROAPI's practices.
This initiative is designed to enhance our capabilities and offerings. It will contribute to enable EUROAPI to achieve state-of-the-art expertise.
The Senior Innovation Project Manager Biotechnology works in a team composed of 5 Project Managers and innovation experts under the supervision of the Head of innovation that ensures cross fertilization and team spirit. The innovation team works at the crossroad between the company’s departments in the HQ and on EUROAPI’s industrial sites: R&D and industrial operations but also support functions such as finance, legal, procurement…
The role requires strong program coordination capabilities, in addition to solid project management, organizational skills, and technical knowledge in molecular molecular biology or biotech process developement.
This position necessitates a strong interest in innovation and ability to evolve with various stakeholders internally and externally.
Core responsibilities:
Project set up and management
Defines project fundamentals : objectives, planning, milestones, deliverables, budget
Plans / tracks / reports
Alerts on risks, identifies opportunities
Ensures Project execution in time and within the assigned budget
Ensures deliverables are clear by setting targets and closely monitoring the work done
Develop capex and opex plans to support the project execution
Communicate progress and outcomes to management
Ensures successful execution of the project
Ensures appropriate resource allocation by line management
Coordinates external network of partners, sub-contractors and service providers including contract management and regular follow-up, ensures deliverables are met
Coordinate project team members (R&D, Industrial operations, strategy, sales) and project managers to prepare all data required for Euroapi stage gate process
Process Transfer / Internalization
Responsible for the internalization of all relevant technology developed with external partners to Euroapi
Facilitates the transfer of processes from third-party entities to Euroapi sites as well as between Euroapi facilities

Education / Experience:
Engineer and/or PhD in Biotechnology
Experience in the management of projects in a GMP environment
Technical skills & Behavioral Competencies:
Proficient in translating technical data into content for stakeholder communication
Ability and willingness to convince
Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English
Strong understanding of change management
Ability to progress in uncertainty
Willingness to collaborate across different functions
Strong personal initiative and proactive approach
Effective participation and influence in team settings
Strong skills in communication and negotiation with key stakeholders (internal and third parties)
Ability to work effectively through others
Strong scientific track record in Biotechnology
Proven track record in execution of projects in the domain of API process development
Ideally CMC background related to API process development and/or experience of external collaborations and contracts management is a plus
Other: Driving license
