Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing and supporting HPC and storage systems on-premises and in cloud clusters (GCP)
- Help troubleshoot issues related to OS, storage, network, and other infrastructure components, in collaboration with other infrastructure teams.
- Enhance the research infrastructure by exploring and deploying new technologies and methodologies.
- Support management of diverse compute capabilities, including CPU and GPU
- Work directly with trading teams to provide a fully integrated research platform for the company.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or related field
- At least 1-2 years of relevant work experience
- Strong programming experience with languages such as Python, Perl, Shell
- Experience with job schedulers such as HTCondor, Slurm, Ray
- Experience with distributed filesystems such as NFS, Weka, GPFS
- Experience with cloud providers such as GCP, AWS
- Experience with designing large scale HPC clusters
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Ansible, Terraform
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (e.g. TCP/IP protocol stack, Ethernet)
- Understanding of Linux kernel concepts (e.g. virtual memory, filesystems, cpu scheduling)
- Working knowledge of hardware and server components
- Strong communication skills
- Strong interest in tracking hardware/software technology trends
Anticipated annual base salary range $150,000 - $265,000, plus eligible for discretionary bonus.
