Provides senior infrastructure administration and support across AIX and Unix systems, including installation, upgrades, monitoring, troubleshooting, disaster recovery, capacity planning, security, and high-availability operations. Supports WebSphere, MQ, Oracle, DB2, SAN storage, and related infrastructure. Provides 24/7 on-call emergency support, documentation, technical recommendations, and continuous service improvements. Requires occasional evening, holiday, and shift duties.

- Manage and provide technical support on system software and hardware
- Perform system infrastructure installation, testing and periodic system software/hardware upgrade
- Conduct and implement strategic, system capacity and disaster recovery planning
- Maintain good performance on system infrastructure and high system availability at all times by managing and maintaining effective emergency fix, recovery and contingency processes
- Monitor and report systems performance by using relevant monitoring tools

- Make appropriate proposals for continuous improvement of services
- Provide proactive advice and assistance, on the features of, and the use of the operating systems software and utilities, midrange servers and peripherals
- Provide 7 x 24 on-call support for emergency production incidents and on-site support for fire-fighting and perform shift duties as required
Requirements
- University degree in electrical/electronic, computer engineering/science or related discipline
- Minimum 7 years’ systems administration and support experience of which at least 2 years must be solid in the AIX platform and/or other Unix systems, along with skills in WebSphere Application Server, MQ, Oracle and DB2.
- Possessing of the skills in IBM Tivoli Monitoring Tools and IBM DataPower will be an advantage.
- Experience in IBM SAN Storage and SAN switch support and administration with its associated management software will be an advantage
- Willing to work occasionally on evening and holiday shift duties for supporting operation
- Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese
- Able to pick up new skills through self-learning and on-the-job training
- Good problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills and able to work under pressure
Skills Required
- University degree in electrical/electronic engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related discipline
- Minimum 7 years of systems administration and support experience
- At least 2 years of experience with AIX and/or Unix systems
- Experience with WebSphere Application Server, MQ, Oracle, and DB2
- Skills in IBM Tivoli Monitoring Tools and IBM DataPower
- Experience supporting and administering IBM SAN Storage and SAN switches with associated management software
- Willingness to work occasional evening and holiday shifts
- Good spoken and written English and Chinese
- Ability to learn new skills through self-learning and on-the-job training
- Good problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to work under pressure
