The Westminster Operations Center located in Carroll County, Maryland (30 minutes from the greater Baltimore area) has an incredible opportunity for a driven, self-motivated individual to join our Operations Services team. This unique position involves collaborating with people at all levels within the organization in support of our goal of strengthening the world's largest general trade book publisher by building the best supply chain in the publishing industry. The Operations Services department is responsible for project management as well as data analysis. Recent projects include adding two distribution centers to our network, implementing a goods-to-person system, and developing distribution network models for a $200M fulfillment operation. This position offers tremendous opportunities for growth while learning the ins and outs of the publishing industry's leading supply chain.

We welcome candidates across a range of experience levels and backgrounds. We recognize that strong candidates may bring different combinations of skills, experience, and qualifications to this role.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to major operational initiatives across our distribution network. A large-scale automation and material handling implementation is now underway at our Crawfordsville Operations Center, and this position will have the opportunity to support that work through cross-site collaboration, analysis, and project involvement. If you enjoy variety, solving new problems, and working with others across functions, this could be an excellent opportunity. Rarely are two days the same, and the role requires close collaboration with team members both in person and virtually.

This role combines analysis, project management, and process improvement in support of distribution operations. You will evaluate existing processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and help develop new approaches that support operational growth and efficiency. The role also requires a candidate to be comfortable working with data, building analyses in Excel, and communicating findings clearly to a range of audiences.

You will contribute to analyses and projects focused on distribution operations, with opportunities to take on increasing ownership over time. Some projects will require work in the warehouse, including time studies, flow chart development, testing system enhancements, and training others. Other projects may include developing activity-based costing and labor models, supporting warehouse management system implementations, designing new facilities, and implementing new automation and material handling solutions.

We recognize that strong candidates may bring different combinations of experience, skills, and qualifications to this role.
