Our team is responsible for developing and maintaining Akamai's object storage platform for Linode. Our enterprise grade solution is an essential element to Akamai's Connected Cloud platform. We provide a scalable and secure storage solution for Linode's customers to build their businesses.

As a Senior Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for:
- Getting in early on an exceptionally rare and impactful project
- Working with a small team to solve complex issues
- Designing systems that scale
- Working to define the next generation of cloud tooling
Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:
- Demonstrate relevant experience and education in Computer Science or a related field.
- Have proven professional experience in Go or C++.
- Have solid experience building high-performance, reliable systems (profiling, concurrency, memory/latency optimisation, and performance debugging).
- Have shipped production software end-to-end, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, triage, incident response, and root-cause analysis.
- Show proven experience in designing and improving complex distributed systems, particularly with performance-critical system development expertise.
- Be comfortable working in an Agile development environment (iterative delivery, reviews, planning, and continuous improvement).
