Thrive Behavioral Health is actively hiring a Senior Human Resources Specialist to join the Administrative Team. The Senior Human Resources Specialist is responsible for fostering positive relationships between staff and leadership. This role ensures a fair, respectful, and legally compliant workplace by addressing employee concerns, resolving conflicts, and supporting organizational policies and engagement initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Keeps abreast of current literature and developments in the field.
  2. Attends and/or completes required agency trainings and meetings.
  3. In collaboration with Leadership and in consideration of Company Culture, mission, and legal compliance, creates and updates policies and procedures.
  4. Serves as the primary point of contact for employee concerns, complaints, and workplace issues.
  5. Investigates employee relations matters, including grievances, conflicts, and policy violations.
  6. Provides guidance to all staff on company policies, procedures, and labor laws.
  7. Facilitates conflict resolution and mediation between staff and leadership.
  8. Maintains accurate documentation of investigations and employee interactions.
  9. Supports performance management processes and disciplinary actions.
  10. Analyzes staff feedback and trends to recommend workplace improvements.
  11. Partners with HR and leadership to promote employee engagement and retention.
  12. Conducts training sessions on workplace conduct, ethics, and diversity & inclusion.
  13. Completes Exit Interviews.
  14. Responds to unemployment insurance inquiries.
  15. Stays aware of all pertinent federal, state and Thrive Behavioral Health regulation, laws, and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
  16. .Effectively collaborates with HR Team and communicates regularly with HR Director regarding any concerns or needs.
  17. Performs other duties and tasks as required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  1. Knowledge of industry standards as related to the position of Senior Human Resources Specialist.
  2. Basic knowledge of PC software programs, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Company’s HRIS is preferred.
  3. Knowledge of FLSA, HIPAA, Title VII, and other applicable laws.
  4. Effective, empathetic listening skills enabling for clear, professional verbal responses, especially when engaging in difficult conversations.
  5. Must be able to concentrate on work amid distractions such as noise, conversations and foot traffic.
  6. Expected to work independently with little supervision in an unstructured environment with multiple demands.
  7. Skilled at diffusing situations involving parties with elevated demeanors.
  8. Must possess a reading and writing level that provides for comprehensive, objective expression and/or understanding of assignments related to job description.
  9. Detail oriented and organized.
  10. Skilled at conducting investigations and creating policies within compliance.
  11. Excellent conflict resolution and mediation skills.
  12. Has the ability to consistently consult with supervisor when necessary and works as a team.
  13. Must be flexible and able to demonstrate self-motivation, prioritization, and follow through.
  14. Ability to represent the program well in interactions both inside and outside the facility in person and over the telephone.
  15. Exceptionally skilled at maintaining discretion and confidentiality as an HR professional and in accordance with company policies.
  16. Effective problem solving and analytical skills.
  17. The skill to present and train on material within the scope of one’s role.

EXPECTATIONS OF ALL STAFF

  1. Adheres to all Thrive Behavioral Health Policies and Procedures.
  2. At all times, conducts self in a manner that represents Thrive Behavioral Health values.
  3. Maintains a positive and respectful attitude with all work-related contacts.
  4. Communicates regularly with supervisor about departmental and Thrive Behavioral Health concerns.
  5. Consistently reports to work and meetings on time, prepared to perform the duties of the position.
  6. Meets productivity standards and performs duties as workload necessitates, including two (2) evenings until approximately 7:30-8:00 pm, unless otherwise approved.
  7. Consistently demonstrates an accurate understanding and application of their specific role in the surveillance, prevention, and control of infections to children, families, visitors, and staff according to Thrive Behavioral Health policies and procedures.
  8. Promotes a safe environment through:
  • Performing duties in a manner that upholds OSHA standards
  • Following infection control policies and procedures
  • Adhering to facility and department safety policies
  • Reporting all potential safety risks
  • Completing incident reports in a timely manner as defined in Thrive Behavioral Health’s policies and procedures
  • Supporting company health and infection control policies
  • Responding correctly to codes and drills
  • Utilizing supplies in a cost-effective manner

Qualifications

Education, Training, and Experience Required:

  1. A bachelor’s degree in a related field such as business administration or human resources management is preferred.
  2. Prefers a minimum of five years of human resources experience, including two years of experience in healthcare.
  3. At least two years of employee relations experience is highly desired.
  4. An HRCI and/or SHRM designated certification is preferred
  5. Prefers CPR/First Aid Certification, but not required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
•The essential functions of this job include the following physical and intellectual demands:

  • Frequently sit, stand, and or walk.
  • Frequently hearing, seeing, and speaking
  • Regularly typing
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with potential for stressful situations.
  • Comprehends and performs job duties at a reasonable pace while using attention to detail.
  • Concentrates, formulates plans, and makes decisions.

*The role of the Senior HR Specialist may occasionally be required that they are available to work outside of normal scheduled working hours, which is compensable.
