Position Summary
The Senior Human Resources Generalist supports a broad range of HR functions with a strong focus on compliance, leave administration, benefits support, policy administration, HR operations, reporting, and process improvement. This role helps ensure SPOC's HR practices are consistent, compliant, employee-focused, and scalable as the company continues to grow. The position serves as a trusted resource for employees and leaders while supporting SPOC's Lift Up culture and the overall effectiveness of the HR team.

Role Intent: This position is intended to strengthen HR compliance, benefits support, leave administration, HR operations, and process consistency. The Director of Human Resources remains the primary leader for employee relations strategy, complex investigations, executive partnership, compensation strategy, culture, and organizational development.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

HR Compliance & Risk Management
• Monitor and support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and HR requirements.
• Assist with handbook updates, policy administration, compliance tracking, and required employment records.
• Coordinate HR audits, compliance reports, and required documentation to support audit readiness.
• Track regulatory changes and recommend updates to HR processes or policies as needed.
• Support compliance training assignments, completion tracking, and follow-up reporting.

Leave & Accommodation Administration
• Administer and track employee leave programs including FMLA, ADA accommodations, military leave, workers compensation coordination, and other applicable leaves.
• Prepare and maintain leave documentation, notices, status updates, and related employee communications.
• Coordinate the interactive accommodation process in partnership with the Director of Human Resources and leadership.
• Ensure leave records are accurate, confidential, and maintained in accordance with applicable requirements.

Benefits Administration Support
• Support day-to-day benefits administration, including employee questions, enrollment support, life event changes, and vendor coordination.
• Assist with open enrollment planning, employee communication, data review, and follow-up.
• Maintain benefits-related records and partner with internal stakeholders and vendors to resolve employee issues.
• Support benefits reporting, invoice review, and plan administration activities as assigned.

HR Operations & Systems
• Maintain accurate employee information in HR systems and personnel files.
• Support employee changes including onboarding, offboarding, promotions, transfers, status changes, and reporting updates.
• Generate HR reports and metrics to support decision-making, compliance tracking, and workforce planning.
• Assist with compensation administration, performance review tracking, job description updates, and HR process improvements.
• Support payroll-related data review and coordination as assigned, while maintaining appropriate confidentiality and accuracy.

Employee Support & Culture
• Serve as a helpful and professional resource for employee questions regarding HR policies, benefits, leave, and general HR processes.
• Support employee communications, engagement initiatives, recognition efforts, and programs tied to SPOC’s Lift Up culture.
• Assist with onboarding experience improvements and employee lifecycle processes.
• Escalate sensitive employee relations matters, complex concerns, or potential risk issues to the Director of Human Resources.

Leadership & Manager Support
• Provide guidance to supervisors on HR processes, documentation, and consistent policy application.
• Assist with preparation and organization of documentation related to performance management, corrective action, and employee follow-up.
• Support leaders with HR tools, forms, templates, and process guidance.
• Partner with the Director of Human Resources on HR projects, compliance initiatives, and organizational growth needs.


Required Qualifications 
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
• Working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, FLSA, employment law, HR compliance, benefits administration, and HR operations.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and follow through.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and use sound judgment in sensitive situations.
• Comfortable supporting employees and leaders in a growing, fast paced environment.


Preferred Qualifications 
• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
• Manufacturing and/or technology company experience.
• Multi-state HR compliance experience.
• HRIS, benefits, payroll coordination, and reporting experience.
• Experience supporting process improvement or scaling HR programs in a growing organization.
