We are seeking a Senior Hub Accountant with strong expertise in accounting, financial reporting, taxation, compliance, and localization requirements. The role will be responsible for managing GST/VAT, TDS, TP, WHT, Corporate Income Tax and other statutory obligations, coordinating with tax authorities, government agencies, banks, auditors and consultants, supporting audits and regulatory reviews, and ensuring compliance with local regulations while maintaining strong financial governance, reporting accuracy and control across assigned legal entities.

 

About Global Business Services:


In Global Business Services (GBS), you will support the delivery of finance, reporting and control services for assigned legal entities. Working closely with Finance Hub colleagues, Global Controllers, Business Unit Finance and Operations, auditors, and technology and transformation partners, you will help ensure accurate and timely financial information, strong governance and controls, effective issue resolution and continuous improvement.



Required experience and skills:


  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience in accounting, financial reporting, compliance or financial analysis.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls and governance requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with close attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience working with financial systems, reporting tools and supporting documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to coordinate deliverables, manage priorities and escalate significant reporting, compliance, control or operational issues through established channels.
  • Team-oriented, self-motivated and able to share technical expertise, coach colleagues and support capability development.
  • Creative and improvement-focused, with sound business judgement and a commitment to high-quality service delivery.


What you will be doing:

  • Execute complex accounting, reporting and reconciliation activities for assigned legal entities.
  • Support period-end close and reporting activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial outputs.
  • Analyse financial information, investigate discrepancies and coordinate resolution of issues and exceptions.
  • Maintain compliance with approved procedures, financial controls, policies and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and supporting evidence for accounting, reporting, audit and compliance activities.
  • Support governance, internal and external audit, compliance and control activities, including remediation and corrective actions.
  • Provide technical accounting and reporting guidance and respond to stakeholder requests and inquiries.
  • Coordinate assigned activities and deliverables, review work within delegated responsibilities and represent assigned activities in operational discussions.
  • Raise and escalate significant compliance, reporting, control or operational issues through established governance and reporting channels.
  • Identify and support opportunities for process improvement, automation, efficiency and standardisation.
  • Share best practices and technical expertise across the Hub.
  • Coach and support Hub Accountants and contribute to onboarding and development activities.
  • Follow required health and safety practices, complete mandatory training, report incidents and risks, and contribute to a safe physical and psychosocial workplace.
  • This position may require working from multiple Wilhelmsen locations across Mumbai to effectively support internal stakeholders.
