The Senior HR Generalist leads the development and continuous improvement of the company's seasonal labor recruitment strategy, including H-2A recruitment, and serves as a strategic partner to the Operations Manager and Production Supervisors on recruiting, training and development, policy and procedure, employee relations, safety, and light-duty/return-to-work programs. This role ensures HR practices align with company mission and values, and supervises HR Administrators to maintain departmental alignment and drive continuous improvement. The Senior HR Generalist also manages benefits, leave, and wellness programs; coordinates employee housing and licensing; oversees company events; and partners closely with the Senior HR Manager to develop standardized, company-wide HR policies and programs that support organizational growth.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and continuously improve seasonal and H-2A recruitment strategy, including sourcing, screening, and onboarding processes
  • Partner with Operations Managers and Production Supervisors on workforce planning, employee relations, and safety initiatives
  • Supervise and mentor HR Administrators, ensuring consistency and quality across HR operations
  • Administer employee benefits, leave programs (FMLA, state leave, etc.), and wellness initiatives
  • Coordinate seasonal worker housing arrangements and required licensing/compliance documentation
  • Plan and oversee company events that support culture and engagement
  • Design and deliver training and development programs for managers and supervisors
  • Ensure injured employees receive proper case management, including timely reporting, accommodation coordination, and return-to-work/light-duty placement in partnership with safety and operations teams
  • Maintain oversight of HR systems (HRIS, applicant tracking, timekeeping) to ensure data accuracy and process efficiency
  • Collaborate with the Senior HR Manager to build standardized, company-wide HR policies and drive continuous improvement across the HR function
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment law, including H-2A program requirements

Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of H-2A and seasonal labor recruitment practices
  • Skilled in employee relations, conflict resolution, and coaching supervisors
  • Working knowledge of leave administration, benefits, and workers' compensation/light-duty processes
  • Strong organizational and project management skills; able to manage multiple priorities
  • Effective communicator, comfortable partnering with operations leadership
  • Sound judgment and discretion in handling confidential employee information
  • Leadership and mentoring skills to guide HR Administrators

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • 5–7 years of HR Generalist experience
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Skills Required
