Who We Are

Quickplay is a Content-to-Value Operating System for media and entertainment, connecting every stage of the content lifecycle—from ingest and enrichment to publishing and monetization—through a single, orchestrated AI system. We power video streaming for Tier-1 operators, including Warner Bros. Discovery, TelevisaUnivision, Telekom Malaysia, Television New Zealand, and Gray Media.

Headquartered in Toronto with offices in Toronto, San Diego, and Chennai, Quickplay is the proven foundation that broadcasters, sports operators, streamers, and creators rely on to turn their catalog into revenue.

The Mission

We are looking for you to drive new institutional capabilities and scale within our Chennai hub. This is one of the most leveraged roles on our People team—someone who will operate at the intersection of global talent strategy, local operational excellence, and organizational design. The role is intentionally split 50/50 between two halves: driving the future of our India operations and quarterbacking the end-to-end employee lifecycle for our Chennai team.

This is also an AI-forward HR role. We don't want a traditional administrator; we expect this person to help us build out the People agent stack that handles the operational layer of HR—statutory compliance hygiene, documentation, data reporting, and foundational workflows—so that you and our leadership can spend your time on the work that actually moves the needle: talent judgment, high-touch coaching, and cultural scaling. If you’re someone who sees AI as leverage rather than overhead and wants a hand in shaping how a modern, global HR org operates in India, you’ll have the autonomy to do that here.

What You’ll Own

You will perform work with a high degree of latitude, handling complex issues and serving as the in-country liaison. This is an individual contributor role. Your key responsibilities include:

  • HR Transformation & AI: Actively explore, implement, and leverage AI-driven tools to streamline HR workflows, data analysis, and employee support. You are the custodian of a "frictionless" employee experience.
  • Strategic Global Collaboration: Partner directly with the VP of People (located in North America) to bridge the gap between global strategy and local execution. You aren't just a link; you are the local expert who ensures our global initiatives land with impact. That includes proactively communicating and driving visibility.
  • Operational Excellence in the Fundational Stuff: Own the foundational stuff - from employee lifecycle for India, managing statutory reporting, and on-the-ground activities.
  • Local HR Partnership: Provide consultative guidance and coaching to local managers and employees to ensure alignment with corporate policies and objectives. Partner with local vendors to bring meaningful educational experiences to Quickplayers.
  • Compliance & Culture: Provide consultative coaching to local managers to ensure our Chennai team remains high-performing, inclusive, and deeply connected to Quickplay’s global culture, while giving oxygen to the local culture we want to amplify. Highly competitive Carrom tournaments are just the tip of the iceberg.

Who You Are

  • Experienced & Context-Aware: You bring 8-10 years of progressive experience, most recently as an HRBP or Senior Generalist, ideally in a high-growth tech environment or in a global GCC.
  • An AI Experimenter: You don't just use HRIS systems; you look for ways to optimize them. You are curious about how automation and LLMs can replace manual HR tasks. Side Note: We love Google and are a G Suite company.
  • A Cross-Border Collaborator: You are comfortable working across time zones, managing remote reporting lines, and driving strategic direction with minimal supervision.
  • High EQ / Low Ego: You are a great teammate who understands that HR is about people, not just policies. You provide coaching that is both direct and empathetic.
  • Agile & Autonomous: You prioritize ruthlessly in fast-paced environments and are comfortable "owning the room" when representing India’s interests to global leadership.

Why Quickplay?

  • High Leverage: You aren't just a cog in the wheel; you are shaping the strategy for our entire India operation.
  • Innovation over Administration: We encourage you to use AI and other creative avenues to make HR "smarter." If there’s a better, or more tech-forward way to do it, bring your ideas to the table, and let’s try new things together.
  • Global Exposure: Gain direct visibility with North American leadership, coordinate and drive global processes, while building a world-class team in Chennai.

Are you ready to build the future of HR at Quickplay? If you are a tech-forward People pro who thrives on autonomy, let’s talk🔥
