CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Senior Highway Engineer to join our Highway & Rail Team as a technical leader and mentor in Keene, NH. In this key role, you will serve as a technical leader and mentor—driving quality across highway initiatives, supporting collaborative project teams, and helping deliver practical, sustainable solutions. What You'll Do:
  • Lead the technical execution of complex engineering designs, technical reports, and specifications for various highway projects including roadway modeling, roundabouts, and signal design
  • Provide expert consultation and resolve highly complex technical issues across multidiscipline transportation projects
  • Lead advanced technical projects, collaborating with other engineering departments and project management staff to deliver sustainable solutions
  • Develop and manage discipline work plans aligned with project milestones, ensuring projects are completed within budget and scheduling restraints
  • Guide and mentor junior engineering staff, including providing technical reviews and support
  • Deliver technical development of proposals and external presentations to clients, public, and regulatory agencies
What You Bring:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required
  • Minimum of 10 years progressive engineering experience required; roadway or hydraulic design experience preferred
  • NHDOT experience preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Expert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline with a proven ability to apply best practices
  • Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (MicroStation, OpenRoads, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred

Salary Range:

$120,000 - $135,000


Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
