As a member of the Infrastructure Foundation Hardware Engineering team, you will play a key role in enabling our mission to deliver a reliable, high-performing, and cost-efficient infrastructure that powers the world’s play. In this role, you’ll be responsible for firmware qualification, integration, and troubleshooting, while also implementing systems to automate critical tasks and ensure reliable and secure infrastructure.

You Will:

  • Assist in the evaluation and certification of new server hardware platforms primarily focused on qualification and integration with existing automation systems
  • Drive a culture of platform security through continuous firmware deployment
  • Enable platform hardware security and encryption technologies such as TPM, SED, TCG Opal, etc
  • Work with internal and external collaborators to investigate, triage, and debug hardware and system issues down to the component and firmware level
  • Collaborate with hardware vendors and provide feedback for future product development
  • Sustain engineering efforts to ensure our firmware are always up to date

You Have:

  • BA/BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field with equivalent practical experience
  • Hands on with: 3+ years hardware engineering and test/validation experience
  • In-depth knowledge of modern data center server platforms & technologies
  • Experience testing CPU, memory, storage, power, and networking subsystems
  • Experience with Linux systems and shells, daemons, and processes
  • Experience with programming languages, like Python or Go

You Are:

  • Skilled at debugging server issues, often remotely
  • Decisive and effective at tracking issues and resolution
  • Someone with solid interpersonal skills
  • Communicative: Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Willing to travel from time to time

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.

Annual Salary Range

$189,110$233,840 USD

Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
