Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an exceptionally talented Senior Hardscape Architect to join our site-based construction supervision team on a major public realm development in Diriyah, which includes a series of iconic and neighborhood parks, open spaces, and over 55 kilometers of streetscape. The objective of this program is to create a vibrant, inclusive environment that enhances livability, accessibility, and community well-being.
What You’ll Be Doing
Report to the Construction Director/Resident Engineer and act as the discipline lead for hardscape and landscape architectural works on site.
Supervise and monitor the construction of all hardscape works (paving, plazas, walkways, curbs, steps, ramps, seating elements, walls, edging, site furnishings, shading structures, and related landscape built elements) to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and project standards.
Review and comment on shop drawings, setting-out drawings, material submittals, method statements, and ITPs related to hardscape and architectural landscape works, and coordinate approvals with relevant stakeholders.
Conduct daily site inspections and regular site walks to monitor workmanship, detailing, finishes, and overall quality of hardscape installations in line with the project design intent.
Check that levels, gradients, patterns, joints, alignments, and finishes match approved drawings, mock-ups, and specifications.
Coordinate and follow up on inspection requests (IRs), NCRs, and site observations with the contractor, ensuring timely corrective actions and closure.
Liaise closely with Project Managers, resident engineers, structural engineers, wet and dry utilities engineers, architects, landscape architects, and the contractor’s team to resolve on-site design and interface issues.
Review and approve samples, mock-ups, and trial areas for paving, finishes, and site furniture prior to full implementation.
Verify as-built drawings for hardscape and landscape architectural elements, ensuring they accurately represent the constructed works.
Participate in progress, technical, and coordination meetings, providing professional input on hardscape-related issues, risks, and mitigation measures.
Monitor the contractor’s work program, sequencing, and resources for hardscape works, highlighting potential delays or constraints and proposing solutions.
Ensure that health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements are fully implemented for all hardscape activities, in accordance with Parsons and project policies.
Prepare and submit discipline-specific reports, including daily/weekly site reports, quality reports, technical memos, and site correspondence as required.
Support inspections, snagging, de‑snagging, and final handover of hardscape areas to the client, ensuring a high level of finish and compliance with design intent.
Maintain professional communication and coordination with clients, client representatives, and other stakeholders during construction and handover stages.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring
Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Landscape Architecture from a recognized university.

Strong understanding of hardscape detailing, materials, and finishes, including paving systems, concrete works, stone, precast, metal, timber, and site furnishings.

Ability to read and interpret architectural, landscape, structural, and utility drawings, and ensure proper coordination on site.
