Job DescriptionNine is looking for a strategic and hands-on Senior Group Financial Accountant to join our pivotal Group Finance Control team!
This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring the integrity and timely delivery of the Group's accounting and financial reporting. You will oversee a robust control environment and provide crucial, strategic financial insights to the Group Financial Controller and Deputy CFO to inform critical business decisions.
Day to day you will:
- Lead and execute month-end close and consolidation procedures, driving the accurate and timely delivery of Group financial reporting.
- Drive the preparation of half-yearly and full-year consolidated financial statements and assist with Board/Audit Committee materials.
- Research and prepare complex technical accounting papers to ensure compliance with standards and document the Group’s position.
- Monitor, interpret, and communicate changes in accounting standards and maintain Group-wide financial policies and procedures.
- Manage the external audit process, coordinating requests and liaising with auditors to uphold external reporting standards.
- Drive process improvements and efficiencies within financial reporting, actively participating in system and process enhancement projects.
You are a committed and collaborative team member, with an ability to absorb information and act accordingly, often in difficult situations. You will be proactive in discussing solutions and raising ideas for improvement in a positive and professional way, allowing you to build strong relationships.
What you’ll bring:
- CA/CPA qualified with proven post-qualification experience in a similar role.
- Detailed knowledge of accounting standards, reporting and governance requirements applicable to a large ASX-listed company.
- Exceptional understanding of financial closing, consolidation and reporting processes.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex technical accounting topics to diverse stakeholders.
- A proactive, solution-oriented self-starter who is capable of driving outcomes and maintaining strong relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deliverables under tight deadlines and implement effective solutions.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and Excel; experience with ERP systems (especially Microsoft Dynamics 365) is highly regarded.
