We’re home to the most important conversations happening today. And we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all.

It has never been more important to ensure people have access to good support, advice and information to allow them to make decisions about their lives. Our Money Advice Camden service works tirelessly to understand our communities here in Camden, and to help people access the support they need as quickly and seamlessly as possible, helping keep people on track. Our team is passionate about the difference we can make in people’s lives, ensuring no one is left behind.

About the role

You will play a key role in ensuring Camden residents experiencing financial hardship receive the right combination of financial support and advice to improve their circumstances. Alongside assessing Housing Payments and complex Crisis Payment applications, you will provide expert guidance to Grant Assessors, manage a small team, and contribute to the development of a new approach that brings together discretionary grants, advice and wider interventions.

You will help ensure support is delivered accurately and efficiently, use your expertise to guide decision-making on complex cases, and work with colleagues to identify opportunities to improve systems and processes, outcomes for residents, and build long-term financial resilience.

About you

To succeed in this role, you will bring experience from a welfare benefits, debt or other financial support background, with a strong track record of supporting people in financial hardship. You will have excellent knowledge of welfare benefits and discretionary support schemes with strong analytical and numeracy skills, and the confidence to make and support complex decisions while communicating with empathy and professionalism.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping residents improve their financial circumstances and committed to delivering financial support linked in with advice. You will have experience, or a strong desire to develop, in supporting and coaching colleagues, with the ability to provide guidance, share expertise and help drive high performance across a team. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing competing priorities while maintaining a strong focus on resident outcomes.
