Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Generalist Software Developer – Full Stack Java/Angular to join our growing team and contribute to the launch of a new project. In this role, you will be involved in every stage of the project, from understanding business needs to developing solutions from scratch. You will also play a key role in providing technical direction, making recommendations, and supporting the team in its technical decision-making.

What you'll do here:

• Analyze systems and programming requirements to identify issues and provide proposed solutions, including program specifications.
• Develop system specifications; code, modify, test, and debug computer programs under general supervision, in accordance with established plans and timelines.
• Develop a strong understanding of the system’s technical and business functionality in order to explain it to colleagues and interact effectively with users.
• Translate requirements into technical specifications and software components.
• Organize and manage production sessions.
• Design and model solutions to complex programming problems in order to meet documented functional and non-functional requirements.
• Review designs as part of project deliverables, with a focus on code and design quality.
• Develop and support complex components.
• Support and guide the project team throughout development activities to ensure code quality and adherence to project timelines.
• Write unit and integration tests for every function developed.
• Participate in the development of regression-testing strategies to improve application stability.
• Provide Level 1 application support and maintenance, and resolve complex defects.
• Work independently.

What you bring to the table:

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
• At least eight years of significant software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java. Extensive experience with Angular is considered an asset.
• Proficiency with cloud infrastructure, ideally AWS, as well as containers, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), CI/CD, and observability.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate business problems into technical solutions. A proactive and collaborative approach to driving change and working as part of a team.
• Initiative and the ability to work under pressure.
• Strong teamwork skills and attention to detail.
• No Canadian work experience is required; however, candidates must be authorized to work in Canada.
• For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism in French and English is required due to frequent collaboration with English-speaking colleagues across Canada.
