The person we’re looking for:  

PUBG Madison is looking for an experienced Gameplay Animator to join our growing team. As a Senior Gameplay Animator, you’ll be expected to create high fidelity 1st person and 3rd person animations. Knowledge of real-life weaponry and how they operate is a must.

A deep passion for gameplay that both looks and feels great is necessary to help create best in class viewmodel animation. If this sounds like you, come help us achieve what’s next for PUBG! This role will report to the Director of Animation & Assets.

Responsibilities: 

• Create high-fidelity player animations using both hand-key and motion capture techniques with a primary focus on 1st person weapon operation
• Advocate for gameplay that both looks and feels top notch
• Implement, test and error check animations in Unreal
• Communicate and collaborate with other departments to achieve high quality gameplay
• Help define and improve DCC and game engine animation pipeline
• Troubleshoot and resolve gameplay animation issues
• Provide feedback, share knowledge and give advice to other animators

Qualifications:

• +5 years professional game development experience with at least 1 shipped title
• Expert level knowledge of industry standard software, tools and pipelines (e.g., Maya, Animbot)
• A reel demonstrating excellent hand-key animation skills and an understanding of modern ballistic weaponry
• Experience with Unreal Engine 5
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide insightful, respectful feedback and collaborate effectively with other disciplines
• Deep understanding of and passion for quality gameplay
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize tasks, and stay self-motivated

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with motion capture
• Experience with authoring animation blueprints
• Rigging and other technical art skills
