The Senior Game AI Engineer position is responsible for building out exciting game systems and features to bring our team’s vision to life.  

This position will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with designers, artists, and programmers, to design, implement and iterate on game AI systems.

  • Extending existing game systems to provide new or improved functionality to match updated designs.

  • Building and maintaining tools for development.

What craft expertise you’ll have:

  • Technology Knowledge

    • Required: Strong C++ programming ability.

    • Desired: C# experience.

    • Desired: Knowledge of Python, Powershell, and batch files.

  • Tool Knowledge

    • Required: Visual Studio with strong experience debugging and profiling code.

    • Desired: Experience working with PS4 or PS5 hardware.

    • Desired: Perforce, Jira, Confluence, and Jenkins

  • Craft Experience

    • Required: Solid understanding of asynchronous programming techniques and pitfalls.

    • Experience creating and working with AI systems. Algorithms and methodologies including bahavior trees and other modern AI methods.

    • Desired: Hands-on experience implementing systems for AAA games with experience in at least one of the following; AI, camera systems, animation, physics, networking, memory, or threading architectures.

  • Bonus

    • Networking experience at the game level.

Other Criteria:

  • Experience

    • Degree: B.S. in computer science or equivalent experience.

    • Years of Experience: 5+ years of game programming preferred.

    • Desired: Strong preference for a candidate that has shipped at least 1 AAA console game.

  • Additionally, you should possess

    • A proven ability to manage time, self-organize, and meet deadlines.

    • Strong communication skills.

    • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

    • Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail.

    • A growth mindset.

    • The knowledge that “writing” the multithreaded code is the easy part.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
