About The Role
Makers Fund is a global interactive entertainment industry venture capital firm focused on early-stage investments. We are looking for a Senior Fund Accountant to be based in Singapore.
The Senior Fund Accountant will be working closely with our operation teams and reporting directly to the Senior Finance Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare timely and accurate NAV reports, management accounts and other fund accounting reports.
- Record accurately the accounting journal entries for both the Fund and Investment Management Companies in different jurisdictions.
- Review capital distribution notices, NAV reports prepared by the fund administrator, and reconcile with internal records.
- Identify exceptions and quality check accounting records.
- Assist in the preparation of audit schedules, annual financial statements, regulatory reports, tax returns and/or other required deliverables.
- Lead and work on tax matters in multiple jurisdictions, including Singapore and US
- Process payments and input/review reimbursements.
- Others ad-hoc assignments including opening bank accounts, preparing management reports.
Skills and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar financial focus preferred.
- 2-5 years of experience in investment fund accounting.
- Ideally hold an ACCA, CPA or equivalent certification.
- Experience in handling Singapore MAS quarterly & annual returns and IRAS tax filing (e.g. Form C, ECI and GST) preferred.
- Willing to learn and take new challenge in a fast-moving environment.
- Responsive, attention to details with organizational and analytical skills.
- Microsoft Office- Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. Openness and proactiveness in broadening knowledge in unfamiliar areas.
- High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
- A proactive attitude and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Additional knowledge of mandarin speaking will be a plus to handle non-English-speaking clients.
