The role

·       Own functional testing activities across key products, features, and releases.

·       Work closely with developers, product stakeholders, and the wider international team to ensure quality is built into delivery.

·       Act as a people-focused team lead for more junior colleagues by helping them structure their work, stay aligned on priorities, and develop good ways of working.

 

 

Key responsibilities

·       Design, execute, and improve functional test strategies, test scenarios, and test cases.

·       Identify, document, and follow up on defects, ensuring timely resolution in close collaboration with developers and product teams.

·       Support release readiness by validating new functionalities, regression coverage, and overall product quality.

·       Act as a quality advocate within the team, helping embed structured and consistent testing practices.

·       Manage the part of the quality process by organising all tests that need to be planned, designed, and executed across the different client environments in scope.

·       Collaborate with teams and stakeholders involved across the ecosystem to be verified and validated.

·       Write overall test plans, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and perform functional testing in the relevant environments.

·       Provide day-to-day guidance to junior team members from a people perspective, helping them organise their workload, clarify priorities, and work effectively.

·       Encourage collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement within the local and international team setup.

·       Be flexible and open to supporting priorities that matter most to the business and the team.

 

What we are looking for

·       Degree in IT, Software Engineering, or a related field is a plus, but not mandatory.

·       At least 5 years of relevant experience as a functional tester or business analytics, scrum-master, software development;

·       Deep experience with testing / bug fixing (fixtures, session-scoped, timeouts) and designing black-box functional tests for CLI tools;

·       Broad testing experience in a complex environment within the financial market.

·       Preferably ISTQB or TMap educated and certified;

·       Experience coaching and managing a small team;

·       Analytical - able to connect business requirements, system behavior, and product risk.

·       A positive leadership style with a structured and supportive approach;

·       Open-minded - happy to give and receive feedback, not afraid to fail, and move on.

·       You are confident in planning and executing tests, identifying risks, and maintaining a strong focus on quality;

·       You bring maturity, ownership, and a structured way of working;

·       You enjoy supporting and guiding more junior colleagues, helping them stay organised and effective in their day-to-day work;

·       You communicate fluently in English and are comfortable working in an international environment;

·       You are collaborative, pragmatic, and motivated by improving both quality and team effectiveness.

 

What we offer:

·       Contract with a gross yearly salary range between: € 39’900 - € 45’500 gross (depending on the experience), paid in 14 instalments (including exempt from working schedule (IHT), holiday, Christmas allowance);

·       Meal Allowance by Coverflex: €10.20 per working day;

·       Work from home expenses: €30 gross, monthly fee

·       Holidays Balance: 22 days + 3 extra days (Birthday, Weekend Bridge and Christmas);

·       Mobile Phone every 2 years of employment (up to € 284.47)

·       Hybrid remote work (2-3 times per week) at our Évora office;

A note about the hiring process

You will initially join IG&H on a contract dedicated exclusively to our client. During this phase, you will work closely with your team and are expected to be in the office 2 to 3 times per week in Évora.

Skills Required

  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in functional testing, business analysis, scrum-master, or software development

  • Experience coaching and managing a small team

  • Willingness to work hybrid from Évora office 2-3 times per week
