This is femtasy
femtasy is the audio-only streaming platform for female-centric erotica. We inspire women to explore and enjoy on their own terms. We are pioneering a female-centric product, we're led by a female CEO & Founder, and over 90% of our team identifies as women+. We've already positively impacted the lives of hundreds of thousands of women by redefining female pleasure, and we're just getting started.
Your mission
With over 2M users and 170M+ audio plays, you'll take full ownership across the whole platform, working directly with our CTO – as the fifth engineer in a deliberately small, senior-only team. Your first day ends with your code in production. Your first quarter might include rebuilding how our Product Owner ships without waiting on engineering.
Your responsibilities
Implement new features across our whole stack, from backend to frontend. Elixir, Ruby, TypeScript + (React | Next.js), with high 90s % coverage on all projects.
Use AI as a core part of how you build. You'll lean on AI to move fast, and build and improve the workflows that automate our technical and business tasks, from generating reports to swapping assets to digging into bugs.
Maintain, design, and scale our platform. It runs on AWS, based on EKS and served via Netlify.
Own quality end to end. Every PR runs through our AI reviewers first, but you're the human in the loop who validates and signs off. Nothing merges without a dev.
Work closely with our Marketing and Product squads, and be crucial to deciding and implementing the features that support our business goals.
Report directly to the CTO, challenge the status quo, and help define the future of our platform, including how far we take AI.
AI-first isn't a slogan here. It's just how we ship.
Everyone says they use AI now. Here's what actually sets us apart:
Bring your own AI. Every engineer gets a company-paid subscription and uses whatever fits the way they work. We don't care which tool you pick. We care that you use it to automate and move fast.
About 70% of our code is AI-driven. The other 30% is where our engineers do what AI can't do well yet: architecture, judgment calls, and the optimizations that turn "it works" into "it's genuinely good." That 30% is the hard part, and it's what we hire for: knowing when the agent is confidently wrong
We're pushing this further than most. Right now we're testing a system that lets our Product Owner ship changes without waiting on engineering. If it works, Marketing is next.
If you want to work somewhere that treats AI as core infrastructure and not a side experiment, you'll fit right in.
Role-specific requirements
You've spent at least 3–4 years at senior level, owning production systems through real growth – enough time to have seen things break in ways no tutorial covers.
Deep, production-level experience in at least two of the three: frontend, backend, infrastructure – and genuine curiosity for the third. If you've spent your career in a single discipline, this role won't be a fit.
You already work with AI tools day to day, – with AI agents, not just autocomplete – and can show concrete examples from recent work. This is a hard requirement, and our application form asks for one.
A user-centric mindset with an understanding of business metrics.
Fluent in English.
This role is 100% remote within the EU – our engineering team already works from Germany, Spain and Portugal, and our headquarters are in Berlin. Prefer the Berlin office, fully remote, or a mix? Whatever suits you best. You reside in the EU and hold a valid EU work permit (CET ±2h). Core collaboration hours are 10:00–17:00 CET; we're flexible beyond that.
Here are some random buzzwords we use daily:
Elixir, TypeScript, Redux, Jest, Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, Kubernetes, AWS, GitHub + GitHub Actions for CI/CD, Terraform, Sentry, Grafana... and some more... Data warehouse, AI-driven development, AI code reviewers, Human-in-the-Loop, workflow automation, code reviews, pair programming, TDD, BDD, CI/CD, continuous delivery, automation, tests, tests, and more tests...
One thing we mean seriously: we are stack-agnostic. Elixir experience is NOT required – we hire engineering depth and expect you to get productive in our stack within weeks.

🦸🏽♀️ Female-led and women-centric. A female-centric product, a female CEO & Founder, and over 90% of our whole team identifies as women+.
🤝 Inspiring, performance-oriented culture. A progressive team culture based on transparency, open feedback, ownership, and collaboration. Check out "radical candor" if you want to learn more about how we work.
🤖 AI-first by default. A company-paid AI subscription of your choice, and a team that automates everything worth automating so you can focus on the work that matters.
📈 Personal and professional growth. Team learning sessions, learning & development budgets, and internal trainings. Did you ever hear of a company where every team member, from junior to C-level, has access to personal 1:1 sessions with a professional business coach?
🔄 Healthy approach to taking a break. 26 holidays plus unlimited recharging time on top for when you really need it.
📍 Flexibility. Flexible working hours and location. Most of our team works fully remote, and we bring everybody together for a week every 3 months to collaborate, connect, align, and have fun.
🎉 (Really cool) events & benefits like an Urban Sports membership (or alternative offerings), snacks & lunches, mobility and retirement plans, and of course our famous femtasy parties and team events everybody keeps talking about for weeks (for real). We also cook and eat together twice a month and have a big office garden for the best BBQs in Berlin.
📝 Permanent contract from day one (6-month probation).
💪 Package. A highly attractive compensation package that fairly mirrors what's expected from you and the impact you'll have on femtasy. Exact range shared in the first call.
femtasy offers equal opportunities for all and encourages applicants of all nationalities, genders, sexual orientations, religious backgrounds, gender identities, and people with disabilities to apply.
If you've read this far and thought “that's how I already work”, we want to see it. The application takes ten minutes and asks for two real examples. We look forward to reading about them.
