The Role

We're looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer to help us build the products that turn AI-powered video analysis into operational tools for our customers, from real-time monitoring interfaces to large-scale video investigation platforms.

You will work across our suite of products, contributing to both real-time monitoring applications (deployed alongside our edge pipeline to operate live camera fleets) and investigation platforms (used to search, correlate, and report on events extracted from video). As Orasio grows, this scope will expand to new products tackling new operational use cases.

As part of the Engineering team, you'll work hand-in-hand with software, ML and Platform engineers, as well as our Forward Deployed Engineers who run our on-premise deployments. Your work will directly shape how operators, analysts, and decision-makers interact with AI in highly sensitive environments.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain fullstack features across our React frontends and our FastAPI backends.

Develop backend services that ingest, persist, and serve data flowing from our edge pipeline (PostgreSQL, vector search, MQTT).

Build and evolve real-time interfaces for video monitoring, investigation, and alert workflows including video playback, map-based geospatial views, and live event streams.

Integrate with third-party Video Management Systems and customer infrastructures.

Contribute to our shared TypeScript and Python libraries used across products.

Care about performance, reliability, and security across the stack. Our products run in constrained, air-gapped, on-premise environments.

Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and product planning. Push back on complexity, advocate for clean abstractions, and help raise the bar of the codebase.

Collaborate closely with ML engineers to surface model outputs into product experiences that operators can actually trust and act on.

Ideal Profile

• 5+ years of experience in fullstack development, with a track record of shipping production-grade web applications.

• Backend: solid experience with Python and FastAPI (or equivalent async Python frameworks).

• DB: strong experience with large PostgreSQL at scale: schema design, migrations, query performance.

• Frontend: strong expertise in React and TypeScript. Comfortable with modern tooling and writing maintainable, testable UI code.

• Good grasp of system design, REST API design, async programming, and the trade-offs of building real-time, event-driven systems.

• Pragmatic about engineering: writes the minimum code that solves the problem, prefers enhancing existing code over duplicating it, and is rigorous about types, tests, and code quality.

• Comfortable navigating a monorepo and a polyglot stack (TypeScript + Python).

• Familiar with AI tooling for the developer experience.

• Mission-driven, autonomous, and thrives in fast-paced environments.

• Fluency in French and English.

  • Experience with real-time messaging (MQTT, WebSockets, SSE) or event-driven architectures.

  • Experience with video (HLS/WebRTC, GStreamer, video player UX) or geospatial UIs

  • Experience operating services on Kubernetes or other containerized on-prem deployments.

  • Experience integrating AI/ML models into product workflows (inference results, vector search, embeddings).

  • Experience building software for on-premise or air-gapped deployments.

  • Experience working on AI-native products or in the Public sector, Defense, or Internal Security sectors.

  • Entrepreneurial or early-stage experience.
