Lyv is the infrastructure powering the next generation of wellness businesses.
We’re building a platform that enables wellness providers to offer clinical services they currently can’t provide on their own, including blood testing, prescriptions, and peptides, all supported by a clinical team. Think Shopify for wellness businesses. Think what Epic was to hospitals (but way better).
Founded by Harvard Business School MBAs with prior experience as founders in technology and clinical operations, Lyv is backed by top venture capital firms and is building at a rapid pace.
We are a seed-stage company with founding-team energy, real momentum, and one of the strongest tailwinds right now: FDA peptide approval in July 2026, GLP-1s going mainstream, the longevity movement, AI-personalized protocols.
We’re still early, which means every hire matters. This is a chance to join at the ground floor, work directly with the founders, and accelerate your career by being part of a fast-growing startup.
The RoleWe're hiring our next full-stack engineer to build Lyv's platform alongside our CTO and our founders. This is a full-stack role with a front-end lean. You'll spend most of your time crafting the consumer and partner-facing interfaces that operators and their clients touch every day, while still owning the backend work needed to ship features end-to-end.
You'll work directly with our CTO, who was the founding engineer at a digital health startup acquired by Cerebral, then lead engineer at Cerebral. He was previously an engineer at Optum and hasbeen through two successful acquisitions. He currently coaches engineers in Carnegie Mellon's AI Masters program. He'll be your manager, your code reviewer, and your mentor.
This is a hybrid role based in NYC working 2-3 days in office and the rest from home.
What You'll Actually Do- Build the interfaces customers see and touch. Consumer, partner-facing, and clinician-facing portals. Polished, fast, intuitive. UX matters here.
- Own features end-to-end. From fuzzy problem ("operators want X") to shipped product ("here's the page, here's the API, here's the migration, here's the analytics"), all of it.
- Work full-stack in React/TypeScript and Go, with most of your day in React/Next.js and the rest in the backend services that power what you're building.
- Partner closely with our designer to ship polished UI. You care about the difference between "it works" and "it feels great to use."
- Leverage AI tooling throughout the SDLC. Use AI to write, review, and deploy code when appropriate. Speed matters. Quality does too.
- Partner closely with a small cross-functional team across clinical ops, product, design, and sales. No "throw it over the wall."
- Engineer for simplicity. Bias toward minimal dependencies, boring technology where it matters, and architecture that scales without ceremony.
Requirements
- 3-7 years writing production software, with the majority of that on the front end. Quality and ownership matter more than years.
- Deep TypeScript + React/Next.js fluency. You've shipped complex, polished interfaces. You think about component architecture, state management, performance, and accessibility.
- Strong design sensibility. You can take a Figma file and ship something that feels exactly right. You can also push back when something can be better.
- A modern typed backend language in production. Go is great, but strong fluency in another typed language plus real interest in Go works. You're not a front-end specialist, you can build the API your front-end consumes.
- Experience designing APIs (GraphQL, REST), schemas, contracts, versioning.
- Comfortable with a cloud platform (GCP, AWS, or Azure) and infrastructure configurations.
- A track record of owning features end-to-end, not just pieces.
- Clear writing and strong async communication, critical for a small team moving fast.
- High agency. You spot what needs to be built, scope it, build it, ship it. You don't wait for a perfect spec.
- GraphQL at real scale (schema design, performance, tooling)
- Animation libraries (Framer Motion, GSAP) or advanced CSS/Tailwind work
- Design system experience, building or maintaining one
- Exposure to healthcare (FHIR, HIPAA, PHI) or other regulated industries
- MongoDB experience, especially vector search and indexing
- GCP specifics (Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, IAM, Cloud Healthcare API)
- Comfort with tracing, metrics, and structured logs
Benefits
- Competitive salary: $170-200K, depending on experience
- Equity
- 100% covered health benefits: Medical, dental, and vision
- Unlimited PTO
- Commuter benefits
- One Medical membership
- Peloton digital membership
- Learning and development budget
