Job Description

As (Senior) Full Stack Software Engineer with a passion for Agile in Brainlab’s Spinal R&D division, you’ll help drive one of the world’s leading portfolios for digitized spine and trauma surgeries. Working closely with agile experts, you’ll guide iterative development to boost team efficiency while collaborating in a multidisciplinary, highly skilled environment. Your team contributes to advanced solutions including digital planning, surgical navigation, imaging, robotics, AR, and cloud platforms. From idea to automated testing and deployment, you’ll cover the full stack with a special focus on improving automation and expanding the team’s Definition of Done. 

Your tasks include: 

  • Working in a LeSS environment as part of a cross-functional team, collaborating closely with Product Owners and departments such as Quality Assurance, Usability, and other teams involved in the solutions. 
  • Design, develop, integrate, test, release and maintain applications that are used to plan and perform spinal surgical interventions to deliver innovative, user-centered solutions that improve patient care. 
  • Take ownership in building and evolving our BDD, TDD practices and our CI pipelines
  • Create systems that are scalable, maintainable with clean, readable code in C++, HTML5 (Python, Rust, ...) 
  • Work according to medical software development standards 
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies, industry trends, and healthcare developments. 

Qualifications

  • You have an education in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent working experience 
  • Several years of professional experience in full stack development 
  • Expertise in C++  
  • Experience with automated testing and building CI/CD pipelines
  • Natural Team player, strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally 
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, German is a plus 

Bonus Qualifications 

  • Experience in RUST, inter-app communication frameworks such as DDS, application performance monitoring and analysis (Prometheus, Grafana) 
  • Willingness to support activities in the field of secure devices and/or statistics
