🔑 About The Job

As a Senior Software Engineer at Omaze, you are an experienced engineer who takes genuine ownership of your code, your decisions, and the outcomes they produce. Whilst being T-shaped with a frontend focus you're also comfortable across the stack and you don't wait to be told where to add value. You embrace AI-assisted and agentic coding as part of how modern engineering gets done and apply it with the same judgement and rigour you bring to everything else. You believe everyone has something to contribute, value diversity and inclusion, and enjoy mentoring others to help them grow.

🔧 What You’ll Be Doing

• Own the design, implementation, and testing of features and services across the full stack, producing code that's clean, well-considered, and built to last.

• Work closely with product, UX, and engineering peers from the earliest stages of a feature, not just at the point of implementation, shaping decisions before they're hard to change.

• Architect and build reusable, well tested components and services that make the platform stronger and the next feature easier to ship.

• Hold a high bar in code review, giving feedback that's direct, constructive, and focused on design and long term maintainability, not just correctness.

• Take responsibility for the security, integrity, and resilience of what you build; raise concerns early and follow through on them.

• Uphold and actively contribute to engineering standards and best practices, not because you're told to, but because you understand why they matter.

• Use AI-assisted and agentic coding tools as a natural part of your workflow, knowing when they add leverage, when to interrogate their output, and how to review AI-generated code with the same rigour you'd apply to anything else.

🤩 About You

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong full stack background and deep expertise in front end engineering.

• Highly proficient with our client-side tech stack: Typescript, React, Next.js and headless architecture.

• Experience with some of our server-side tech stack: Typescript, DynamoDB, AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and AWS CDK.

• Experience designing and building products or major features from concept to launch.

• Highly proficient in unit, integration and end-to-end testing.

• Comfortable operating in environments subject to regulatory, compliance, and risk-based security requirements.

• Effective communicator in teams of technical and non-technical individuals.

• You engage engineers to support a culture of collaboration and inclusion through mentorship, respectful code review, and dedication to quality.

• You are excited to share and learn from your teammates about crafting fantastic user experiences.

• You are passionate about voicing your opinions and can be humble in receiving feedback.

• You are energised by sharing knowledge, learn constantly, and are unafraid to learn and iterate on your products quickly.
