Overview
MCL Finance is building a modern lending operations platform to support its growing business finance activity.
We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to take ownership of this internal platform and the operational workflows behind it. This role plays a key part in improving how loans are processed, funded, and managed across the business.
You will work closely with leadership, operations, and engineering to improve efficiency, introduce smart automation, and help the business scale in a controlled and reliable way. You will have real ownership, influence on priorities, and the opportunity to shape how the platform evolves over time.
This is a hands on role for someone who enjoys solving complex operational problems, making decisions, and turning real business needs into practical product solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Own the internal lending operations platform end to end, from application intake through funding, servicing, and commissions.
- Map existing operational processes and identify the biggest bottlenecks and manual pain points.
- Set clear priorities and make tradeoffs in a fast changing, founder led environment.
- Reduce manual work and operational cost through automation and process improvements.
- Work closely with engineering to scope, sequence, and deliver improvements in an agile way.
- Translate real world operational needs into clear and actionable product requirements.
- Balance input from the owner, SLT, operations, and engineering, while keeping focus on outcomes.
- Define and track operational success metrics such as time to funding, automation rate, and error reduction.
Your skills & experience
Essential
- 3 - 5 years of product management experience, preferably in fintech, lending, or operationally complex environments
- Experience introducing automation into manual operational processes.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with engineers, operations, and business stakeholders
- Strong ability to prioritise and make decisions in unclear situations.
- Ability to work independently with incomplete information and still move forward.
- Good analytical thinking and comfort working with operational metrics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including clear documentation and stakeholder alignment.
- Basic technical understanding of APIs, integrations, and data flows.
Desired
- Background in fintech and/or lending industry
- Experience working in founder led or fast changing environments.
- Experience working with brokers or external partners.
