Overview
Moneyboat is seeking an exceptional AI-First Senior Full Stack Engineer to play a key role in evolving our next-generation microservice-based Loan Management System (LMS). You will contribute hands-on to delivering feature parity as we migrate from a monolithic platform to a modern Node.js + React stack that already processes thousands of loan applications daily, working closely with the engineering team and cross-functional stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Orchestrate the Microservice Symphony - Build and maintain 15+ services and several React front-ends so they play in perfect harmony - fast, fault-tolerant, and ready for an encore.
- Chase Lightning-Fast Latency - Help keep critical financial calls under one second and uptime at a near-mythical 99.9%, even on Monday mornings.
- Guard the Treasure - Build with PCI-DSS, GDPR, and FCA requirements in mind; use encryption and audit logs like a true fintech paladin, in close partnership with security and compliance.
- Sharpen the Craft - Raise code quality through pragmatic code reviews, thoughtful pairing, and knowledge sharing across the crew.
- Chart the Migration Course - Contribute to the journey from legacy to a microservices paradise - no data (or developer) left behind.
- Keep Stakeholders Smiling - Translate tech arcana into plain English for product, compliance, and execs; impress with demos, not jargon.
- Integrate the World - Navigate partner-critical APIs without hitting the reefs of breaking changes.
Your skills & experience
- Experience delivering complex changes in fast-moving environments.
- Strong ability to translate sometimes complex technical details into language that’s understood by all stakeholders.
- 7+ years in software engineering, with strong experience in high-scale microservices.
- Expert in TypeScript / Node.js, React, REST API craft, Docker, and cloud CI/CD (AWS or GCP)
- Advanced SQL wizardry on high-volume MySQL clusters
- Fintech or payments pedigree (PCI-DSS, FCA, GDPR)
- Gift for turning gnarly architecture into stories everyone understands
- Bonus coins: ML/AI credit-decision chops, large-scale migration victories, open-source kudos
- Expert in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) - comfortable with compute, storage, and managed services
- Advanced proficiency in Kubernetes (K8s) - container orchestration, deployments, and cluster management
- Proficient in Go (Golang) as a systems programming language - building performant backend services
