Articore operates TeePublic and Redbubble, two leading global online marketplaces where independent artists can sell unique designs on a variety of products, from apparel to wall art. About the Job
As a foundational member of this new team, you will be instrumental in delivering our best-in-class solution for our users engaging with their communities via unique merch products. You will be joining a brand-new team just as the MVP rolls out the door, and will have the opportunity to make a sustained impact on the project’s technical development.
As a member of our Engineering team, you will work closely with the Product and Design specialists on the team to discover and implement delightful experiences for our users and their communities using modern best practices. You will be part of a team that values continuous improvement as well as continuous integration. We ship code multiple times a day with a low-friction process that relies on collaborative code reviews, rigorous monitoring, and regular A/B testing.
Responsibilities
- Implement new user-facing features using modern ES6+ and Rails 6.0+ best practices, including View Components and Stimulus
- Design and implement backend systems supporting common user workflows, including artwork management, customized branding, and receiving payments
- Participate in Product/Design discovery exercises to better understand user needs
- Contribute to technical project management through writing and reviewing implementation proposals, breaking down work into actionable tickets, and debriefing at regular retrospective meetings
- Maintain application reliability by writing automated tests and working with your team to QA new features and bug fixes
- Ensure quality by engaging in collaborative code reviews with your engineering peers
- Optimize user experience through site performance analysis
Requirements
- 3 - 5 years experience in Ruby, Ruby on Rails, and PostgreSQL
- 3 - 5 years experience in HTML5, CSS3, and Javascript (ES6+)
- Experience with Agile project management
- Experience with optimizing web performance at scale
- Familiarity with WCAG accessibility standards
In support of pay transparency and equity, the minimum and maximum full-time annual base salary for this role in New York is $130,000 - $155,000 at the time of posting. While this is our reasonable expectation this is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, education, certifications, responsibility, and geographic location. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
