The Role:
As a Senior Full Stack Engineer at Checkbook, you’ll design, build, and scale our payments platform - from databases and backend services to APIs and user interfaces. You’ll work with Python, Postgres, and modern frontend frameworks, owning projects from architecture through launch.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and architect exceptional web applications that exceed industry standards and captivate users
- Build and ship robust APIs, integrating with internal, partner and customer systems
- Ensure the security and integrity of our applications, safeguarding our users' valuable information
- Design and optimize large DB schemas, queries and objects to meet performance and functionality objectives
- Develop and implement automation tools and strategies to ensure the quality and stability of our web applications
- Stay up-to-date with the latest web technologies, industry trends, and best practices
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related discipline
- 5+ years of experience working with Python, Postgres and frontend frameworks (e.g. React, Angular, Vue.js, Ember) to build robust web applications
- Familiarity with Python web frameworks including Flask, FastAPI and Django
- Ability to translate business requirements into effective software solutions
- Excellent problem-solving skills to tackle challenges and find creative solutions
- A background in fintech is a plus, but not required.
