Our client is a fast-growing software company.
The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Take ownership of new product areas built from the ground up, working across the front end and back end of a web application. You will move quickly from idea to production and partner with product and customer-facing engineering colleagues. The role reports to the company's chief executive.
What you'll do
- Build real-time conversational AI features from design through release.
- Deliver new functionality at a fast pace using a modern JavaScript-based web stack.
- Partner with product managers and engineers who work directly with customers.
- Occasionally sit in on customer meetings to show the features you have created.
- Influence how the system is structured, which tools are used and how it is hosted, as one of the first engineers.
- Establish good working practices for the engineering group and coach less experienced teammates as headcount grows.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- 4 to 8 years of software engineering experience, already operating at a senior level and seeking broader end-to-end ownership.
- Strong skills in at least one modern programming language, plus readiness to work with TypeScript and React on the front end and Node.js on the back end.
- A strong academic record.
- A history of more than one promotion at a prior employer.
- Ability to work on-site five days a week in San Francisco.
Bonus points
- Hands-on experience putting LLM-powered or agent-style systems into production.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL and AWS.
- Comfort with customer-facing work, including demos and client calls.
- Prior experience moving from a large technology company to an early-stage startup.

- Base salary: USD 160,000 to 230,000 per year
