What You’ll Do:
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Virtual Economy Optimization team, you will help drive a healthy and ever-growing creator economy at Roblox. Our team manages the platform and infrastructure that supports in-game monetization systems within Roblox. Our products enable creators to sell virtual goods within their experience, handling millions of daily transactions. Our goal is to empower our creators and help them optimize their monetization strategy via our platform.
You Will:
- Engage with various functions to help refine requirements.
- Develop systems that our creators use to optimize their revenue within Roblox.
- Define the technical strategy for front-end services and API layer for the team.
- Contribute to overall system design, gather feedback, and iterate where necessary.
- Help recruit future talent for the team.
You Have:
- 7+ years of experience developing and supporting highly available and large-scale systems in production, including 3+ years of experience in consumer-facing products.
- Experience leading projects that involve multiple functions.
- Experience building products from scratch and comfortable in front and back-end development.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- [Preferred] Experience working in the gaming industry or monetization platforms.

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.
Annual Salary Range
$238,520—$289,460 USD
Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
