We’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our fast-moving product and engineering team. You’ll play a key role in building, scaling, and refining the tools that power Realm’s mission to transform the home renovation experience.
You’ll work on features that help homeowners price, scope, and visualize their projects; enable contractors to evaluate, bid, and manage projects; and increase efficiency for Realm’s home advisor team. Along the way, you’ll be at the forefront of AI innovation.
You should be comfortable owning end-to-end development—using React on the frontend and Ruby on Rails on the backend—and eager to work on a breadth of AI-driven features. We’re looking for someone who thrives with autonomy, moves quickly from idea to implementation, and is excited about building high-impact software in a startup environment.
We’re not just looking for strong coders—we want engineers who think critically, bring fresh ideas to the table, and elevate product discussions. You’ll collaborate closely with product and design to shape and ship experiences that truly resonate with users.
About Realm:Realm is on a mission to help homeowners complete their renovations and new builds with confidence, ease, and financial clarity. We guide them through every step of the pre-construction journey—from understanding timelines and permitting to refining scope and securing financing. We then match homeowners with high-quality contractors, help set expectations, and support them even after construction begins.
We’re an early stage startup founded in 2019 building a category-defining platform for home renovation. Our small but mighty team is based primarily in Los Angeles (Culver City).
What You’ll Do:- Own and ship full-stack features from concept to deployment using Ruby on Rails and React
- Collaborate cross-functionally to turn product requirements into scalable solutions
- Identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, and dev experience
- Review code, mentor teammates, and share knowledge
- Help shape engineering culture and best practices
- 5+ years building full stack web applications in production
- Deep experience with Ruby on Rails and PostgreSQL
- Strong proficiency with React for user-facing web apps
- A high degree of autonomy and product sense—you think like a user and ship like an owner
- Passion for fast, reliable, and beautiful products
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, iterative startup environment
- Experience working with AI tools or integrating LLMs into production features
- Familiarity with React Native and interest in contributing to the mobile experience
- Experience integrating with Salesforce (SFDC) or other third-party platforms
- Experience using Tailwind CSS for building clean, responsive UI components
