Work Arrangement:
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Milford, Mi, Warren, MI, Austin, TX or Mountainview, CA three times per week.
About the Team
Our team turns a firehose of fragmented data into a single pane of glass for vehicle software. We aggregate signals from testing, releases, and the field into dashboards that update engineers and leadership on the state of software planning, quality, and delivery performance across millions of vehicles. This is a dynamic space where the architecture and solutions are still taking shape, and we're looking for a senior engineer eager to shape them and make real impact on a project with executive-level visibility.
Role Summary
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will own complex, full-stack systems end-to-end, from data ingestion to the interfaces that surface insight. You will architect solutions across a React frontend and Go backend, set technical direction for your work streams, and raise the bar for quality and reliability while mentoring engineers around you.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and operate full-stack features across a NextJS frontend and Go backend services, owning them from architecture through production.
- Develop rich data visualizations and dashboards that translate statistical concepts into intuitive insights.
- Extend a nascent shared component library, bringing cohesive style and reusable building blocks to our ecosystem.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, UX/design, and partner engineering teams to refine requirements and deliver compelling experiences.
- Write clean, well-tested code and participate actively in code reviews and design discussions.
- Manage multiple concurrent deliverables, proactively surfacing risks and blockers.
- Operate effectively amid evolving priorities and incomplete information, making sound, pragmatic decisions and maintaining steady, high-quality delivery.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field plus four years of relevant experience; or equivalent knowledge with six years of relevant experience.
- 6+ years of experience with at least one programming language and working knowledge of additional languages, with a solid grasp of software design principles.
- Hands-on experience building web applications with modern JavaScript frameworks, including React/NextJS.
- Proficiency with core engineering practices: version control, test-driven development, debugging, and performance analysis.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deliverables, with strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
- A proven track record leveraging AI tools to move faster, with the judgment to apply them responsibly and validate their output.
- Production experience with NextJS and TypeScript, and modern JavaScript tooling.
- Experience building data visualizations using charting libraries (eg. Recharts, Chart.js, visx) and comfort translating statistics (distributions, variance, aggregations) into clear visuals.
- Demonstrated success working cross-functionally and contributing to shared component libraries or design systems.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure) and micro-frontend architectures.
- A level-headed, adaptable working style - someone who stays composed and effective when requirements are ambiguous or priorities shift.
