Senior Frontend Engineer - React Native

Kiosk is creating a new set of community experiences centered around value-exchange—fundraising, patronage, creation, community ownership, and more.

We are a small, passionate team based in New York City. Our office in Tribeca is our sanctuary and shared mental space. We believe that a small team working together in person moves faster and achieves more because we know each other better, and know our work more intimately. Fewer Zoom calls mean more creating. You are

• An experienced Frontend Engineer with a track record of shipping products and building a platform that accelerates the engineers around you.
• Based in New York and excited to work with us in-person at our Tribeca office (we run on a hybrid schedule).
• A learner — We will go further by standing on the shoulders of giants. You’ll have to learn to use new tools on the fly and create tools that don’t exist.
• An optimist — We’re done complaining about crypto's lack of consumer adoption. We’re just going to figure it out. Every failed experiment is an opportunity to learn about our space.
• A trailblazer — Phil Knight said “It won’t be pretty” when he founded Nike. We are building a platform and practice for experimentation. We’re going to kill a lot of darlings on the way to finding the one thing that works.

Responsibilities

• Architect a strong foundation for our team to iterate and experiment on
• Build performant and high fidelity consumer applications in React Native
• Raise the skill level of engineers around you
• Craft beautiful and intuitive user experiences
• Design and integrate GraphQL API interfaces alongside backend engineers
• Work closely with designers on implementing new features based off of mockups, communicating tradeoffs and exploring new ideas

Requirements

• 4+ years writing production software (bonus points for web3 experience)
• Experience building high performance and scalable applications in React (think state management, routing, caching, media management)
• Experience building consumer products
• Product intuition — everyone at Kiosk takes ownership of the product
• Experience with TypeScript and React

Nice to have

• Experience with React Native
• Experience building native mobile consumer applications (iOS, Android)
• Meaningful open source contributions or public code for us to appreciate
• Web3 experience

Salary range

• $200,000 - $250,000 (based on experience)
