Role overview

Our client is a large-scale, high-traffic social content platform who is looking to hire a seasoned Frontend Engineer for one of the highest traffic pages - Comments. In this team, we strive to ensure the comment consumption experience is intuitive and delightful for all users. This is a high-impact role where you will drive related technical and product strategy, operations, architecture, and execution for one  of the largest sites in the world.

Model: FTE or Contractor (12-18 months), 100% REMOTE

Locations: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama

Key Responsibilities
  • Work cross-functionally with product, design, and other engineering  counterparts to execute on product and business strategy and build novel  products and features that our users will love.
  • Contribute to the full development cycle: technical design,  development, test, experimentation, analysis, and launch. You’ll be  reviewing code and design docs, giving feedback on product specs and  mocks.
  • Participate with a team of thoughtful, fast-moving, and motivated  engineers. Contribute to standards that improve developer workflows,  recommend best practices, and help mentor junior engineers on the team  to grow their technical expertise.
  • Continuously learn and improve your technical and non-technical abilities.

Requirements
  • Minimum 10+ years of hands-on, experience developing software in one  or more front end focused programming languages; Javascript, Typescript,  ES6.
  • Proficiency with one or more front-end web frameworks such as LIT, Polymer, React, Vue, or Angular with experience with CSS.
  • Experienced with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, Thrift basics, and the ability to design and implement maintainable APIs
  • Experienced with distributed caching layers, and distributed large scale data storage systems.
  • Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks and to  deliver projects on schedule, the ability to collaborate with other web  engineers and cross functional partners such as product managers and  designers.
  • You are self-directed, innovative, and biased  towards action in fast-paced environments. You love to build new things  and thrive in ambiguity and even failure.
  • Excellent communication skills

Skills Required

  • 10+ years hands-on experience developing frontend software
  • Proficiency with Javascript, Typescript, ES6
  • Proficiency with front-end frameworks (LIT, Polymer, React, Vue, or Angular) and CSS
  • Experience with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, and basic Thrift
  • Ability to design and implement maintainable APIs
  • Experience with distributed caching layers
