About the Position

As part of the team, you will grow our autonomous drone management tools and enable our research teams to deliver new and exciting autonomous flight and machine learning products. The software you create will be used to interface with our robots, cloud services, and supportive tooling. While working in a fast-paced environment with experienced team members, you will be responsible for understanding business requirements and constraints, converting those into wireframes and mockups, and supporting the team in creating a unified product interface.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Lead a collaborative team of engineers to design and implement the front-end platform of the UNITI product, focusing on building scalable and user-friendly solutions.
  • Use your expertise to support and guide implementation decisions across the team, promoting shared knowledge and teamwork across the group.
  • Serve as a role model and mentor to other members of your team to help foster professional growth.
  • Actively participate in work assignment and scheduling decisions ensuring that tasks are balanced and aligned with project goals.
  • Contribute as an individual team member to write code, write tests, and code review the work of others in furtherance of product and business objectives.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Strong experience designing web applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or TypeScript, with a focus on creating clean and effective solutions.
  • Skilled in creating intuitive user interfaces for web applications that prioritize user experience and accessibility.
  • Lead the technical design and direction for enterprise-level frontend architecture that supports large-scale customers and vast amounts of data.
  • Proficient in JavaScript frameworks such as Svelte, jQuery, React, or Angular, with a passion for leveraging modern tools and techniques.
  • Deep expertise in Svelte and TypeScript, with a focus on building scalable, high-performance frontend applications.
  • Hands-on experience with Tailwind CSS for efficient and responsive design.
  • Familiarity with robotics, aviation, or machine learning technologies and their applications in web development.
  • Competency in backend languages like Go or Python to support full-stack development efforts.
  • Comfortable working with Git and other source control management systems.
  • Knowledge of cross-browser compatibility and the ability to ensure consistent experiences across different platforms.
  • Exposure to continuous integration and delivery practices, with a focus on maintaining smooth deployment pipelines.
