Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design and implementation of FPGA solutions for new product development.
- Develop Verilog/System Verilog code for complex digital logic, including high-speed interfaces and control functions.
- Perform comprehensive simulation, synthesis, and place & route for FPGAs (e.g., AMD/Altera).
- Design and implement test benches and verification methodologies for FPGA designs.
- Collaborate with software, firmware, and system engineers to integrate FPGA designs into larger system architectures.
- Conduct hardware debugging and validation.
- Generate detailed design documentation, including specifications, block diagrams, and test plans.
- Participate in design reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to design standards.
- Stay abreast of new FPGA technologies, tools, and industry trends to recommend improvements and innovations.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the overall technical growth of the team.
Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in FPGA design and development for commercial products.
- Expertise in VHDL and/or Verilog for complex digital design.
- Strong proficiency with FPGA development tools (e.g., AMD Vivado, Intel Quartus Prime).
- Extensive experience with simulation and verification methodologies (e.g., UVM, SystemVerilog is a plus).
- Solid understanding of high-speed digital design principles, signal integrity, and timing closure.
- Experience with various communication protocols (e.g., PCIe, Ethernet, DDR, SPI, I2C).
- Proficiency in using lab equipment for hardware debug and validation.
- Familiarity with embedded processors (e.g., ARM, MicroBlaze, Nios II) within FPGAs is highly desirable.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Tcl) for automation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
