The Role
👫 About the team

Our Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team is the primary Finance partner for Equativ’s business leaders. The team is composed of several FP&A Analysts, based in Paris (HQ) & Montreal, who strive to provide enterprise-wide planning, analysis and reporting.

The team’s main mission is to provide visibility and counseling on the business not only to the executive team, but also to local business leaders. Real backbone of the company and highly visible, the FP&A team achieves this through measuring and forecasting performance, reporting on the drivers for revenue and cost and allocating budgets across the company in a fast growing and complex environment. The team’s input is also required for all finance projects: M&A growth, product pricing and billing implementation, contracts renegotiation, etc.

Reporting to the Sr Director, Business Analytics & FP&A, you will be working closely with our different internal stakeholders (BU Leaders) to provide them with financial insights, in order to ensure a good understanding of their financial performance and the actions to be taken to stay on track.

Your responsibilities will include:

Business intelligence and partnering
- You will be the FP&A leader in North America, and the go-to person for FP&A topics in this region, which is Equativ’s main market. As a result, educating your internal customers and ensuring a smooth communication with them will be at the core of your missions.
- Make sense of complex business figures using your excellent analytical skills and provide insights & recommendations to your internal clients.
- Act as a true business partner to departments ranging from Regional Sales to Central Functions such as HR, Customer Support, Product, for various topics: P&L monitoring and explanation, performance follow-up, etc.
- Collaborate closely with the local accounting team to work on cost control

Contributing to the Core FP&A production
- While most of the core FP&A production (Closing, Bonus process, Forecast, Budget…) will be handled by the central team, your understanding of the specificities of the teams you’re working with will be key to ensure a seamless process.
- You’ll be involved in bonus-related processes as this is a highly sensitive topic for the teams you’re serving. In periods of high workload (for ex: yearly budget process), you will be supporting the central team even more.

Misc.
- Provide support on transformation initiatives, current processes’ evolution, and identification of new analysis needs (for M&A, pricing and other purposes)

💪 About you

  • Master’s degree in a Finance or Analytics field, from a top Business or Engineering School
  • 3+ years of experience in relevant field: FP&A in a tech environment, Business Analytics, Financial Audit or Transaction Services
  • High proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint / Slides and experience in building financial models is a must
  • You’re curious, willing to learn about a complex industry and always eager to find innovative solutions to problems
  • Good knowledge of accounting principles & appetence for accounting topics
  • You can demonstrate your ability to solve problems end to end
  • Daily business is done in English: both written and spoken fluency is required
  • Basic knowledge of SQL, Power Query, Anaplan and Tableau is a plus but not mandatory - we need you to show interest in this and we’ll be here to help you grow

Hiring Manager Interview (45 min): Conversation with the Hiring Manager to dive deeper into your FP&A expertise and business partnering skills.
Home Assignment & Presentation (1 hr):
15 min: Meet with a colleague you’d collaborate with in this role.
45 min: Complete and present home assignment. Focused on:
Excel skills and modeling capabilities (completed in Excel)
SQL portion (you may use online resources)
Final: Executive Interview (30 min): Final conversation with senior leadership.
