We are seeking a Senior, FP&A Analyst with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The candidate will work in a dynamic biotech startup environment and have the opportunity to partner with an innovative group of leaders to influence key business decisions. The candidate should possess a problem solving mindset and an ability to resolve issues on a timely basis by working independently and collaboratively. WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Collaborate with various departments to understand their financial needs, provide analytical support, and offer insights for informed decision-making.
- Serve as the key business partner to Discovery and Tech business functions, focusing on providing financial day-to day support for their strategic programs.
- Plan and carry out budget procedures including monitoring of department expenditures, communicating status to management, reviewing and making recommendations on business unit and department budget proposals.
- Manage and enhance forecasting models to ensure expense management with a high degree of accuracy.
- Provide budget vs.actual reporting including variance explanations and commentary and various ad-hoc analyses to support strategic initiatives and business growth.
- Support the annual budget/LRP processes and consolidations around headcount, opex and capex planning.
- Work closely with the Accounting team to ensure accurate classification of expenses for management reporting purposes and to provide budget managers with financial and activity based analysis.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Support company Long Range Financial planning process by developing appropriate models and making adjustments over time to optimize the process.
- Support existing partner collaboration analysis and contribute to business development financial modeling.
- Build financial models and analyze business development opportunities, risks, synergies and overall cost models.
WHO YOU ARE
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- 5+ years experience in FP&A and/or banking, or similar analytics experience, biotech industry experience a plus
- Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and sense of urgency
- Excellent quantitative analytical skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills, can easily present complex financial issues to non-finance executives (solid PowerPoint skills preferred)
- Well-versed in financial modeling and budget management, with the ability to identify key variance drivers and create forecasting models to predict the future with accuracy
- Proficient in using financial software and data analysis tools to manipulate and analyze large datasets.

The estimated base salary for the preferred primary location of the San Francisco Bay area ranges from $110,200 - $135,000. Salary ranges for other locations may vary. Base pay offered may vary based on job related knowledge, experience, education, and location. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer.
