Senior Flutter Developer (Hybrid, Cluj-Napoca)

We are looking for an experienced Senior Flutter Developer to play a key role in the development and evolution of our mobile applications. You will be a hands-on senior engineer, contributing to architecture, code quality, technical decisions, and the continuous improvement of our mobile development practices. You will work closely with Product, Engineering, and other stakeholders to maintain and improve our existing applications while helping evolve the platform toward a modern, scalable architecture.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable operating as a senior hands-on engineer and taking ownership of complex technical challenges. You should be able to dive deeply into the code, contribute to architectural decisions, solve difficult engineering problems, and collaborate effectively with the rest of the development team. You care about building reliable and maintainable products, not simply delivering features. You are comfortable questioning existing approaches when there is a better solution and can clearly explain the technical reasoning behind your recommendations.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR FOLLOWING TASKS:

Build & Architect

• Design, develop, and continuously improve core components of our mobile platform using Flutter and Dart.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and help ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, testable, and performant.
• Support the evolution of our existing application portfolio toward a modern architecture.
• Evaluate and propose engineering practices, tools, and technical improvements that increase product and development quality.

Develop High-Quality Mobile Applications

• Build and maintain reliable, performant, and user-focused mobile applications.
• Take ownership of complex technical tasks and features from implementation through production.
• Troubleshoot technical issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
• Contribute to the ongoing maintenance and improvement of our current mobile application portfolio.

Maintain Engineering Quality

• Conduct regular code reviews and provide constructive, actionable feedback.
• Promote clean, maintainable, and well-tested code across the mobile codebase.
• Apply appropriate architectural patterns, OOP principles, SOLID practices, and platform-specific best practices.
• Identify technical debt and contribute to discussions around prioritization and resolution.

Collaborate & Plan

• Actively participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, technical discussions, and task estimations.
• Work closely with Product and other Engineering teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Contribute to technical planning and help identify dependencies, risks, and suitable implementation approaches.
• Collaborate with other developers to solve complex technical problems and improve development practices.

Share Knowledge & Improve

• Support less experienced developers through code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous technical improvement and collaboration.
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation covering architecture, integrations, development practices, and important technical decisions.
• Continuously improve development processes, tooling, testing practices, and ways of working.

WHAT QUALIFIES YOU TO JOIN US ON OUR MISSION

Experience

• 5+ years of professional mobile application development experience across Android and/or iOS.
• Strong experience working as a Senior Developer or in a comparable hands-on engineering role.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with Engineering, Product, and other functions.
• A strong sense of ownership and accountability for the quality of the software you build.

Flutter & Dart

• 3+ years of hands-on commercial Flutter development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Dart, particularly asynchronous programming, Streams, and reactive programming concepts such as RxDart.
• At least one Flutter application successfully released to production through the Apple App Store and/or Google Play Store.
• Strong understanding of Flutter application architecture, performance considerations, and development best practices.

Mobile Engineering

• Strong understanding of mobile application architecture and platform-specific development considerations.
• Solid experience integrating applications with REST APIs and WebSockets/socket-based communication.
• Strong understanding of application lifecycle, networking, state management, error handling, and performance optimization.

Code Quality & Software Design

• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and SOLID principles.
• Experience designing clean, modular, maintainable, and testable applications.
• Strong attention to code quality and consistency.
• Comfortable reviewing code and contributing to shared engineering standards.

Nice to have

• Experience with native mobile development technologies such as Kotlin, Java, and/or Swift.
• Experience configuring or working with mobile CI/CD pipelines.
• Practical experience writing Unit, Integration, and Functional tests for mobile applications.
• Experience with large-scale or high-traffic consumer applications.
• Experience modernizing or migrating an existing mobile application architecture.
• Experience contributing to development standards, architecture guidelines, or engineering processes.
