We’re an incredibly fast paced business that requires a capable and ambitious individual with proven accounting, financial reporting and compliance skills and excellent technical knowledge, to help build and maintain our best in class finance function.
Reporting to, and working closely with, the Financial Controller, you will be instrumental in delivering financial information to both internal and external stakeholders, as well as providing daily operational support within the finance department and ensuring our processes and controls are water tight.
You will have a crucial role to play in our reporting and compliance initiatives, as well as working alongside experienced Business Intelligence, data, sales, product, tech and marketing teams.
What does a Senior Financial Reporting Manager do at Busuu?

Own Month-end close process, ensuring timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting: preparing and approving journals, variance analysis and balance sheet reconciliations.

Quarterly reporting, flux and audit queries to Chegg accounting team/auditors.

Act as the main point of contact for interim/year-end audit, statutory accounts and tax for the Group entities.

Partnering with Internal Audit and other relevant departments on internal controls, including SOX documentation and walkthroughs.

Management responsibility for Finance Operations Administrator, reviewing bank reconciliations and main point of contact for expense/virtual card systems.

Review Bi-Weekly payment runs.

Review and support Payroll Manager with monthly payroll (UK and Spain).

Manage Global VAT, R&D and other tax compliance.

Partner with FP&A on budget and forecasting and adhoc projects.

Work alongside other team members to establish best in class controls and Identify and implement improvements in financial reporting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Develop and update financial policies and procedures to ensure consistency between Busuu and its parent company.
What we’re looking for in a Senior Financial Reporting Manager at Busuu

ACA/ACCA accounting certification or international equivalent, 3+ years PQE
-
Excellent technical accounting knowledge (UK, Spanish and US GAAP)

Experience of Global accounting and compliance - experience at a US listed company preferred
-
Experience working in the finance function of a scaling company, SaaS preferred.

Excellent operating knowledge of Excel, Google Sheets, and Netsuite

The ability to be innovative and commercial with excellent communication skills

Demonstrated ability to meet strict deadlines while managing multiple projects.

Be able to pick things up quickly with a high attention to both detail and accuracy;

Confidence to set own goals, ambitious and driven to push limits
